So soft the air in soothing
ghosts of wind upon my skin, the vestige of your most-
loved gale, and I am crumpling in upon myself.
So soft the air of autumn
Winds that take the pins out of her auburn hair
And crinkle with the tread of my remembrance of your love
When the cool air made the crickets slow,
you would sing in tones so low not even I could hear them.
So soft the air of mother’s lips
your dreams let go, inconsequential as the air.
I blew you a kiss, you smoothed my hair.
