Lily's POV
I was finally getting ready to move, away from this terrible job away from this ugly town, and I'll go to a bright shining city. I rolled down my car window and cheered singing the songs that were on in my car. I was ready for anything and everything coming my way! The future was going to be bright and my name would be shining. Everything my friends had told me about this city had better be true to it's name because I was ready to let my life take a turn for the better. I was so excited to see my world change for the better. My writing would take off, my books would be flying off the shelves in stores and producers would be ecstatic to be making it into a movie. I was ready!
I got to my house in San Francisco, I knew my first job in town would be settling in but I also needed to get a starting job. Something to get me on my feet to start my next book. Maybe a love story, a fiction novel, fantasy? I wouldn't know what to do if it hit me in the face.
I started at a small office place, there weren't that many people and we had an old woman as our boss so it was pretty easy to work. As long as you got the little work done in the time allotted you would be good, since of course, our boss wasn't that strict. I had gotten to a good pay and began writing my next novel. I couldn't think of anything, no love interest no warm hearts. It was so frustrating. But I had to keep writing. I knew I had to.
As the days went by and I got used to the place, the waves of the beach seemed less gorgeous, and the city lights seemed dimmer every night. It just seemed like another town, no story, no action. I had no inspiration, nothing and no one to inspire me to write. It was an empty feeling in my brain that made over time at work my only escape.
I decided to try making friends in the neighborhood, I met a boy named Garrett who lived a couple houses down, he was a proud homosexual trying to help others in town who felt closeted or uneasy about their sexuality. It would only make sense since he was a marriage counselor. Me and him became friends very quickly but because of our opposite hours the only time we would see each other is through text messages and at clubs he would take me to on weekends.
Guys at the clubs he took me to never really caught my eye. They would see me as another pretty little thing in a dress, most were older men looking for something to toy with which grossed me out quite a bit. I pushed the thought away even as guys would come up to me and say rude remarks like;
"Wow what a big chest size you have! Are those double D's?"
"I bet those legs go all the way up."
"I'd love to touch that pretty brown hair of yours."
Such animals at that club. But Garrett found it fun and I would never miss an opportunity to see him. He made a great friend and a great guy to talk to when I couldn't get inspired about my stories. He tried helping me by telling me some of the stories his clients told him about their love life but it was never wild enough for me to put into words. So every night I would go home without a chapter written, or an inspiration in my mind.
