*April's pov*

[A week later the 21st Frankie, Erin, Jo and I are having lunch when her phone rings she quickly answers:]

"Hello?"

"Hey. I was thinking we could stay in tonight and get some food from that Chinese spot you love. If you don't have to work."

"No the restaurant is closed for the next week. I've got a broken freezer and all of my food went bad. I'm just glad that nobody has been sick."

"Yea. What are you doing right now?"

"Lunch with my mom. Hey I've got twenty minutes before I meet the repairman. I'll see you in ten."

"Okay."

"Bye."[I hang up and try to avoid eye contact with them Erin says:]

"How's Derek doing?"

"Why are you asking me? How would I know?"

"I thought you two lived together. You said that ever since Hannah died he hasn't been able to go into his old place."

"He's good."

"So. Who was that on the phone?"

"A friend."

"Friend got a name?"

"Darren. We went to school together. You remember him right Jo?"

"Yea. I think so. Is he the one you cheated on Derek with?"

"Caroline! You promised you wouldn't say anything!"

"Wait what?! You cheated on Derek?"

"I'm so sorry."

"We were on a break and I got drunk it was just a kiss."

"You two were making out in the backseat of your car."

"Jo! Stop talking! I told Derek immediately the next morning and he forgave me. I didn't deserve him then and I sure as hell don't now."

"What do you mean?"

"He's always been there for me and we've both been through a lot this year. Which reminds me I have to go. I love y'all and I'll talk to y'all later."

"Tell Derek we said hi."

"How did you know?"

"This is the first time you have been out of the house in almost two weeks other than work. Is it good?"

"Very! I'm so glad he was my first."

"I thought Paul was your first?"

"He did too. Derek and I went backpacking around Europe after graduation and it was great. Let's just say I've never been so flexible."[my phone rings it's Derek I answer:]"Hello?"

"Hey gorgeous. I'm still in classes so I can't make it."

"Oh well that's okay. I'll see you tonight right?"

"I'm not sure baby. I'll call and let you know."

"Okay. I'll just sit at home alone."

"I gotta go."

"Yea. I'll talk to you later."[I hang up and put my phone back in my pocket Mom asks:]

"You okay?"

"Yea plans  just got canceled that's all."

"I'm sorry."

"I'm fine. I'll call you later. Bye guys."

"Hey before you go Sutton is having a career day and she wants to ask if you would go."
