This time darkness covers the surrounding area, leaving not a single shread of light behind.
Dany clenches Striker close to her chest as she looks around, everything was dark and soulless.
"Narrator? What's going on? Where's our next opponent?" Dany calls out to the darkness, slowly maneuvering to her feet, in the event she needs to jump out of the way quickly.
"Your next opponent? Do you really want to know?" He speaks in a curious manner, holding back information, not sure if the girl was ready to face the fourth opponent or not.
"Yes. I am ready. We are ready!" The girl holds onto Striker confidentially. She had to redirect her mind to thinking of Striker and her as a team. Because that is what they were throughout these rounds, they are a team, ready to face whatever the insane Narrator or game organizers had to throw at them.
"Don't day I didn't warn you." The narrator sighs slowly, if the girl could see him, she would see him slowly shaking his head back and forth as he looks down upon her. "Your next opponent, a creature of light and flames, one that never really dies. Your opponent can burn up and then emerge anew from the ashes. Your fourth opponent is..."
Before the narrator was able to finish his spiel, a bird of flames flew out over Dany's head. The girl watches the beast soar through the sky, swirling and twirling, before slowly descending and landing in front of her.
"My next opponent is a Phoenix?" The girl's eyes were wide with dismay and disbelief.
"That is correct kiddo. Check in with me if you aren't burned to a crisp by the end of the timer." The narrator nods slowly, Dany can't see him, but if she could, she would see his slow nod.
"There's a timer this time?" Her eyes widen even more, fear paling her skin.
"That is correct, you have exactly three hours to defeat your opponent, or face death. Have fun." And with that, the narrator's slowly fades away into the background.
The Phoenix stands tall as it inhaled deeply, the girl - still frozen with disbelief - stood firmly before it. The creature lets out an ear piercing scream, sending the girl flying back into the darkness.
"Dany! Snap out of it! We gotta get through this one!" Striker calls out, hoping to snap his weilder out of her appearing trance. Without her to strum his chords, the electric guitar was practically useless. He didn't want their journey to end this way, but maybe it was their time...?
"No!" Dany shuts her eyes hard, then shakes her head roughly from side to side. "I won't let our journey end here!" She calls with determination, she wasn't going to let some creature that was only just a myth a few moments ago, let her fail at her quest to succeed in all the rounds.
"That's my girl!" Striker calls out amused, he was overjoyed that she was able to snap out of her own trance by herself.
"Now how do we defeat it?" The girl looks down at her weapon, becoming caught off guard by another attack from the Phoenix. This time her back crashes into something hard, yet everything around her was still pitch black. "Can we use the de-aging Spell?" Dany asks, wincing in pain as she recalls the chords she played to turn the lion into a tiny cub.
Striker moves his head from side to side, it was his version of shaking his head.
"I don't think so, but you can try. I'm just worried that it will be reborn again." Striker tries to explain, he was definetly at a loss for ideas. Normally he had loads of ideas, but now, for some reason, he had none.
