Why is nobody listening?
Slowly the clock advances and nothing can stop it. I watch the others, laugh unconcerned, ignoring the imminent danger that looms. I want to run, the desire to fly burns inside me, but I can't escape, I know, time will end. I approach my mother who, as usual, is making dinner, I hold her tightly while I feel the tears come slowly. She doesn't move, sighs, and then I hear her sob. "I know, honey," she whispers.
I close my eyes, fear has consumed me, a buzz seizes my ears, but I'm still able to hear the ticking to increase its speed.
The end is near, and no one here can hear it.
