Wow she was so beautiful. I think as I climb onto the bus. I'll probably never see her again. Whatever she probably didn't feel the same way i did anyway. Afterall, i met her all of 30 minutes ago. I sat down by a window and sighed.
Danny sits down next to me, "What's up Sam?" he asks. "Why so glum?"
"What? Glum? Me? I'm doing just fine." I attempt to assure him.
"Ok..." he doesn't buy it. "I'm going to go get some water... but cheer up! It's our first night back home!"
He's right, I think. I'm just naive and had a weird experience, get over yourself.
We arrive at the venue and go through soundcheck like normal. I can tell it is going to be a great show.
"You boys ready?" Jake asks when we get backstage.
"More than ready." Danny replies drumming on his knees in anticipation.
Josh nodds excitedly while drinking some water. Gotta prepare that voice for all the screaming.
——slight time skip——
We can hear the opening band finish and right on cue Troy, our beloved sound guy, pokes his head into our dressing room.
"Rock n' roll boys!"
All four of us get up and run out onto the stage to a screaming crowd. That never gets old.
I grab my bass and Jake begins playing Highway Tune. The crowd goes wild. Danny and I follow. Josh thunders out his signature wail and we are off.
I have no recollection of anything that had happened earlier today. My mind is wiped of anything that isn't the music. My entire body falls into beat and I play my heart out.
