Jake's POV
As Skyline got of my car, I went back home. I couldn't help thinking about her though. She was the first girl to ever snap at me like that and I kinda liked it. It shocked me when she had all those problems. She seemed like the girl who had all, the looks, the money and I thought she had friends but I guess not. I would never think she would be broken out of all the people at school. Also, I thought I was the only one who was alone considering my circumstances. I'm alone too ya know.
It all started when my mother died. I will always remember her. She had this cheeky smile and dazzling teeth that made you happy by seeing it. When she died though, my dad started to act out. He started drinking and sleeping around with women and treating them like trash all the time. Dad would go to the club and come back with a blonde or brunette bimbo in his arms. Once morning hits, Dad kicks them to curb. Dad kept doing this until he met Eden. Eden would never replace my mom but I soon did love her. Dad met her at a strip club and apparently Dad wanted to sleep with her but Eden refused causing her to lose her job. Dad wanted Eden to live with us and after three months of Dad continuing to ask her she agreed. It didn't take long for her and dad to fall in love.
After their marriage, Dad tried having a baby with Eden and him finding out she couldn't was devastating. Turns out about 7 years ago Eden got stabbed in an alley but some guy after her shift.
Eden didn't want Dad under all that stress causing her to leave him.
Dad went into depression and goes to a place where they care for people like him. He bought this house about four years ago. He's getting better I suppose but it pains me to see him so broken.
I finally made it to my destination. Mercy.
Mercy is a club/cage fighting place. This where most deals are passed at. I have to make a deal with Ben and Shane in order to get my money today by my boss. Ben is a smart guy, put him up against five intelligent guys and he would still out smart all of them. Then there is Shane. Shane is about dumb as rocks but he can beat your ass. Shane is practically made of brick yet alone his punching skills.
As I sat down in a booth I couldn't help but think about Skyline.
Maybe I can be her first friend.
