After shooing Charlie out the bathroom I finally prepared myself for the day. I don't usually put on a lot of makeup I normally just use powder, mascara, lipstick and my signature winged eyeliner.

For me to be half fairy and half vampire I didn't have exactly the perfect hair or perfect skin. I had my father's burnt sand colored hair, however, I had my mom's tightly coiled hair texture. I didn't receive my father's ivory skin color, but I did have my mother's toasted, bronze, caramel skin. Their skin was flawless while my skin had sprinkles of freckles covering my nose and cheeks. For some peculiar reason I didn't inherit either of my parents' eye colors. My Mother had fiery hazel eyes while my Father had deep blue curious eyes. I ended up with deep chocolate average eyes.

After starting World War III on my hair finally settling with a high bun I made my way downstairs.

"Evie why don't you ever speed down the steps, you do know you're a Vampire right? or did you just forget all that around the time you forgot to go pick up your food from your Aunt Lulu?"

Oh my Fay! I did forget to go pick up my food from Auntie Lulu. You see Fairies and Vampires have completely different diets. Vampire diets mostly contain a more red meat or a blood diet, but in Charlie's case a junk food and blood bag diet. While on the other hand the Fairies get most of their nutrients from the earth and some magic potions that they concoct like a magical tea brew or something I can't pronounce. But my Auntie Lulu grows most of what I consume on a daily basis while My Auntie Quinn supplies me with my very often needed blood bag.

"I knew you were going to forget Evie that's why I took a walk to Lulu's to pick up what you need." Uncle Axel murmured. "Your Aunt says that you need to study and practice your magic, you can't expect her to feed you all your life."

You see, since my Mother and Father met they literally had to fight to be together. The Fay and the Vampires don't quite get along in the political sense. Definitely when they had me.

It was only one time a Fairy and Vampire procreated and the two had a son named Issac. No one has ever seen someone so powerful as Issac. With the strength of a Vampire and the magic and intelligence of a Fairy he was not only dangerous, but insanely foreign, he even smelled differently.

The Fay community was almost torn apart and destroyed single handedly by Issac. His parents lost full control while he went on a rampant rampage. There were thousands of mortal casualties, he even went as far as attacking fairies and putting dark hexes on Vampires. That's when Julian Sadlestorm put an end to the chaos and killed the child, vowing that no vampire or fairy procreate again or punishment will reap throughout the entire bloodline of the child, parents, and witnesses. Did I forget to mention that Julian Sadlestorm is my grandfather.

So my parents set off to travel the world and fight for the equality of interracial couples and the rights of Fairies and Vampires.

My Mother also went against her Father promoting that Fairy/Vampire children aren't all going to turn out like Issac or be a threat to the Fay community. When people found out that Julian Sadlestorm's Daughter Lily deliberately went against him and birthed a child with a Vampire they immediately ordered both parents to do a heinous thing of killing their own offspring or have each of their families slaughtered and defaced down to the ancestors.

So my parents did what they thought was right. They faked my death and changed my named from Jamilla to Evie and moved me to a town where no fairy or vampire was in a 300 mile radius. My Auntie Quinn was the only one that didn't shun my Father and offered to protect me with her life. Later on, my Mother's sister Luciville secretly moved to the same town to keep me safe and hidden from any Fairy conservatives hunting fairy/vampire children, and to also train me in Fay magic.

"Evie your Aunt Lulu said she tweaked the brew a bit so the magic masking your scent should last longer than your shift so you won't have to worry this time." Aunt Quinn put the flask in front of me.

You remember when I said the crazy strong kid named Issac smelled differently? Yeah, I do too. Hey! Not saying I smell bad I just smell different to other supernatural beings, I don't smell like a Fairy or a Vampire. I guess you could say I'm the mystery dum dum pop, you can't identify if I'm dead smack dab in your face and apparently the scares the crap out of people.

I grab the flask and take a quick swig, it doesn't taste differently. Maybe she added more sage.

"What does it taste like Evie." My Uncle Axel asked curiously.

"Want to taste it unk?" I giggled as I watched him recoil as he turned to the freezer to grab Charlie her waffles, He threw the blood bag on the table in front of her

"Damn Dad, you can't just be throwing my food like that! Do we through your many jars of Nutella like that?!?" Charlie exclaimed dramatically

"Number one Charlie watch your mouth and number two I wish you would throw my, delicious Nutella... I love it almost as much as I love you."

Suddenly Aunt Quinn's hand makes contact with Uncle Axel's head. "Hey! Now watch it mister, our baby is way more important than Nutella." Aunt Quinn leans and kisses Charlie's forehead "Besides... I think rare Salsbury steak is way more delicious than Nutella and more important than Charlie." Aunt Quinn laughs deviously.

"Why you gotta be so rude, don't you know I'm Half human too." Charlie sings in her parents' direction.

"Come on Charlie don't want to be late on your first day girlie." We place are dishes in the sink, I drink the rest of the brew and head out the door behind Charlie. "You can drive." I throw her the keys. Well work should be interesting.
