"Okay you are way too happy for someone whose just been told they've sprained their wrist and have to have to wear a cast for 2 weeks." Charlie said to Lily as they walked out the hospital doors into the warm afternoon air of Australia.
"This is the first time I've worn a cast and the Doctor gave me a lolly pop." Lily replied skipping gleeful in front of Charlie, swinging her arms as she did so to ensure that everyone so the neon red cast over her wrist.
"You seriously look like you're 5."
"And you look like a jealous 5yr old cause you ain't got no lolly pop." Lily said spinning on her heals so that she could see Charles.
"Yea..." Charlie said crossing her arms over her chest while kicking some stones that were on the pavement.
"Well isn't it good that I'm just the best friend in the world?" Lily gave her friend a mischievous smile before removing another 3 lollies from her back pocket, displaying it proudly in front of her.
"Ah hell yeah!" Charles said running up to Lily and grabbing it out of her extended hand, "How'd you get it?"
"Pah-lease like its hard! I just had to smile sweetly, drop my sunglasses onto the floor and grab a handful when he wasn't looking – easy peasy."
"Excellent skills my dear fellow! But what do we do now?"
"Shopping?!"
"Ugh fine."

"Ugh I hatttteeee shopping, why are we here again?" Charles asked as she pushed clothes aimlessly back and forth across the rail.
"Because, I'm not going to lie but we looked like absolute crap when we met the boys today and even if they only see a glimpse of us tomorrow, I want to look better than now." She waved her hand up and down in front of herself to emphasise that sweats and an old hoodie were not the prime clothing articles to meet your favourite band in.
"Well excuse you I look fab-u-lous!" Charlie sarcastically replied as she picked up her bag off the floor. "What we need is something to make us stand out." Lily said as she dragged Charles out of Hollister and onto the busy street.
"I think your flipping cast can do that by its self. Whys it so bright anyway?!"
"That's it you genius!!"
Grabbing Charlie by the wrist she lead her into the nearby drug store and walked down the aisles until she found what she was looking for – hair dye.
"No way, no way am I doing that!" Charles protested.
"Oh come on its just dye, I think I'll go for a two tone blue....."
"THERES RED, YOU'RE GOING WITH RED! It can match your cast and you can wear your black skinny jeans and be super punk rock. I loved Michael with red hair but I do like his colour at the moment." Charlie said clutching the red dye to her chest and gazing blindly into the distance. "Okay now you've had your public fangirl session over Michael can we pay now? And I would like to buy a top."
"But there's a new game shop," Charlie popped the 'p' and pouted, swaying her arms as Lily handed the dye to the assistant behind the counter.
"That does sound better than looking at clothes – lead the way!" Smiling at the cashier Lily followed behind her best friend and made a B line to the new exchange shop that had recently opened. Half an hour later the girls meet each other at the shops door both carrying a bag filled of goods. The way home on the bus was filled with excitement as both showed off their purchases ranging from All Time Low CDs to a Nintendo 64 game.

The girls made it back to the apartment and felt like they could collapse. In Charlie's case, she actually did. A dramatic representation of her current mood. She barely opened the door when she fell to her knees and then continued to face plant the floor.
"Lily, go on without me! I'll never make it, Ill only hold you back! SAVE YOurse-!"
"Charles get up of the floor and out of the door way, the neighbours are coming and they already think we're hella weird!"
"Hey, let them think what they want! It's not like we have parties here every night or anything! They could have worse neighbours compared to the weird nerd, possible/probable lesbians that live down the hall." Charlie laughed at her own jokes.
"You may be right but get your ass off the floor! We have a concert to prepare for."
