Dipper

"Guys, how would you feel about going back to Gravity falls?"

Mabel and I both looked at each other and grinned with smiles as wide as a cantaloupe slice.

Gravity Falls. Before I thought about what I was going to say, my answer left my mouth. "Uh, Yes!" I laughed.

Mabel slapped my arm in excitement. "Are we all going?" she asked, hopeful. She probably wanted to introduce them to Candy and Grenda. They looked at each other, without smiles.

"Well, that's why you're going. Your mother and I have a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity. Out of the country." My jaw dropped in shock. "How long are we staying?" Excitement bubbled up inside of me. "Believe it or not, you guys are staying for an entire year!"

Mabel squealed in excitement slapping my arm yet again and picked up her pig Waddles, who oinked with joy. I laughed, then asked, "Is Grunkle Stan there?"

Mom smiled and replied, "Yeah, he just returned from the sea." I grinned, knowing that Grunkle Ford was going to be there too. "And you'll be going to school there as well. You're welcome." Mom smiled. She knew how much we had grown to hate school in California. A small school in the woods was exactly what we needed.

"And, that weird guy, Soos, said that his adopted cousin, Rachel has a job there now and that she's sixteen." Dad said, standing from our breakfast table.

"Oh, cool. When do we leave?" I asked, refraining from eating the bacon on my plate around waddles. "We're leaving this weekend. But as soon as you get packed up, you can go." He explained, picking up something from somewhere behind our counter. The weekend was only three days from that day.

"We got you both a surprise. Unfortunately, for now, you'll have to share the 'small' gift for a while." Mom got out her phone and held back a grin. Dad had two wrapped boxes and a small bag sitting there. "Go on." he snickered. I slid my finger under the wrap and ripped it. Waddles helped a giggling Mabel open her box.

I pulled off the rest of the paper and sat in astonishment. A Mac Book and a dark blue cover. Mabel had the same, but with a pink case. "Oh, man." I gasped holding it up.

"Wow!" Mabel gaped, pulling the charger out of the box as well.

"Thank you! I've wanted one of these for ages!" I laughed. I ripped open the boxes in a matter a minute, and put the whole thing together. Wow, they actually love me, I smirked.

"Mabel, don't feel bad, yours is the one you have to wait on. But this is Dip's." I pulled the paper out of the bag and there it was. The keys to my first true love. I said nothing, but stared at the logo on the keys.

Mustang.

"Go check her out." Dad winked. I screamed wildly and ran out the door, right to the garage. Shining in all of her glory. A white 65 mustang with a silver stripe. Tears formed in my eyes, and a sudden urge to throw up overtook me. "It's mine!" I laughed, laying on the hood. Mom came around, and filmed me crying all over the hood. "What are you gonna name it?"

Still laying on the hood, I whispered, "I don't know. After something that is beautiful." I sniffled. She laughed at me. "Thank you!" I squeaked.

"Are you on your period or something?" I muttered an 'mmmhmmm'. "She's full of gas and ready for your trip." Mom winked. I looked at her.

"No bus?" I asked, sliding off the hood.

"Nope. so you can take Waddles with no problem." She suggested. Mabel would love that.

"Best get packing, Dip. You need to save your gas for the drive." She smiled, putting her phone down.

"Yeah, I guess your right. Free gas." I laughed, hugging her. "Thanks." I whispered. She embraced me, gently messing with my messy hair.
"Enjoy it, and don't be an idiot." She snickered.

And off I went.

*Early the next morning*

Dipper's POV

It took us all day to pack our stuff the day before, and about an hour or so the next morning just to finish up. All our clothes, and the essentials. My stuff was just the normal. For Mabel, that included to 50 sweaters, glitter, and lots of other random crap she swore she couldn't live without. But I had a feeling about the whole ordeal.

Something BIG was going to happen. I could feel it. Whether I asked a girl out, or, even more impressive, I kissed a girl. Who knew? All I wanted to do was drive my true love into the weird woods of Gravity Falls, Oregon. That is, my car.

Part of me wondered if it was selfish to leave so early. It probably was, but I was basically homesick for that place. Like, city life had suddenly become irritating and tumultuous compared to country life. It was, most of the time, peaceful. The city was loud and wild, more for a party person.

The sooner we left, on the contrary, was the sooner mom and dad could start preparing without us in the way. Obviously, they loved us, and trusted us, but we were... us. After Weirdmaggedon, I had grown a bit less scrupulous and level-headed like I was, (but not all the way) resulting in a more relaxed me. Mabel stayed the same, but grew out of skirts and headbands. Instead, she replaced them with leggings and scrunchies.

We were growing up. Way too fast. We needed bricks on our heads.

"Hey, Dip, I got a weird feeling about this trip." She said, finally zipping up her last suitcase.
"I was just thinking about that." I smirked. "Hehe, Twins." She chortled, then continued, "I dunno, I just feel this is going to be as weird as the last summer we spent there. But worse."
I nodded in agreement.

After I did my morning routine, and packed the bags in my Mustang, (which smelled amazing) I went to bid my parents farewell. They both sat at the table, talking and drinking coffee.

"We're all packed up." I smiled, fiddling with my keys. They both smiled, and attacked me with hugs. "Oh, we're gonna miss you, Mason." My dad said.

Mason.

It had been a while since I'd been called that. "I'm going to miss you, too." I grinned. "Drive safe, don't be bad for your uncle, and Skype us every night." Mom requested.

"Don't smuggle drugs, and don't crash the plane." I laughed, embracing them tighter.

"Hey, a group hug? Why was I not invited?" A voice whined. We giggled, and let Mabel join in.

It was a very bitter-sweet moment. We were all parting ways. "We'll bring you something back." Mom said as we pulled apart. Waddles oinked in jealousy.

Dad chuckled. "You too, pig."

I'll admit, the mood was both sullen, yet exciting. We were all changing a lot in so little time. But it was time for change. "Now go on, before we drag you with us." Mom sniffled. I nodded, looking at Mabel.

And then we left.

In the car, which started like a dream, I pulled out my phone and dialed Soos's number. "Hey, we're on our way."

A/N:

Hi! So, this is probably bad right now, but I'm trying. If you see anything that needs editing, tell me! And Dipper's real name is Mason, right? Also, I have no clue how long it will take to update. It's taken me three days to write this chapter, but I have been out of school for a couple of days too, so, yeah. I am a junior, and have quite a hefty amount of school and miscellaneous things, so I cannot promise consistency. Thank you!
