Novah's POV
Driving down the busy highway 21-year-old Novah was trying to make her way to her local Walmart. She had just gotten done with her last class of the day and she knew she didn't have any food in her run-down apartment. Being in her third year at Spelman, she was lucky enough to be able to move off of campus and into a 3 bedroom apartment that she shared with her two best friends. The apartment wasn't that bad, especially not for the price they paid for rent, but it wasn't where she wanted to live at the rest of her life. She was majoring in psychology and with a minor in communication but she didn't know what she wanted to do with that degree yet. Pulling into the parking lot of Walmart she parked and hopped out. Rushing into the store she quickly grabbed a buggie and went to get what she came for. She wasn't in a rush but she didn't feel like being out any longer. She had to work in a few hours.
Walking down the sauce and can good al she bumped into someone.
"Oh I'm so sorry," she quickly apologizes.
"Na, you good ma," the stranger replied.
Walking around him, she stopped in front of the different types of sauces. Looking for the one she needed she couldn't reach it. Looking over at the dude she just bumped into she called him over,
"Excuse me," Novah said causing the guy to look up.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Can you get that bottle of spaghetti sauce down for me please?" Novah politely asked.
Smiling causing his bottom grills to show, he nodded walking behind her to get the bottle she asked for. Dropping it into her buggie he smiled. Looking up at him Novah's breathe left her body, damn this man is fine. She thought to herself.
Thanking him she grabbed her buggie and left. After getting everything she needed and paying, she was now loading all of the items into her car. Feeling a tap on her shoulder she jumped looking back.
"My bad ma, I ain't mean to scare you." The dude who got her sauce laughed.
"It's cool, can I help you?" Novah asked.
"Yeah, you got a nigga?" he asked. Taken back by his boldness, Novah blinked.
"Uh, no I don't."
"Coo Coo, tryna give me yo numba?" He smiled.
Looking him up and down she took everything in, he looked like a eff boy. But he was fine. Shrugging her shoulders she said yeah. Holding her hand out for his phone, she placed her number in.
Saying they goodbyes, Novah got into her 2004 Toyota and drove home.
After a 30 minute ride, she was finally pulling into her apartment complex.
