Nico was checking the time and mixing frantically. It was Percy's eighteenth birthday and Nico was attempting to bake a cake, but this wasn't an ordinary cake, it was bright blue. Percy always had a blue cake on his birthday and Nico wasn't about to break a tradition. Needless to say baking was not Nico's strong suit, there was sugar spilled on the floor and enough flour in Nico's hair that is was no longer dark brown and almost completely white. Nico and Percy's date was at 6 pm, they were going to dinner and then they would come back to the Hades cabin for a movie. Right now it was 4:30 pm and Nico hadnt even taken a shower yet. After 30 minutes he had finally gotten the recipe right and he was even more covered in cake. It was 5 o'clock and Nico really had to rush if he wanted to make it on time.

Percy was walking back from the canoe lake and his mind was buzzing about how excited he was. Him and Nico had been dating for about a half a year now but it seemed like so much longer. Percy couldn't imangine life without Nico and never stopped thinking about him. Percy loved Nico's rare smile and the way he stands on his toes to reach up and kiss Percy. Percy was looking forward to tonight and couldn't stop smiling. He had to stop by the Big house to let Chiron know where he and Nico were going that night. So he climbed the stairs and went inside, he walked through the house and realized Chiron must still be teaching archery so he went into the kitchen. There he found his boyfriend covered in frosting and flour and finishing a lopside blue cake. Nico didnt notice Percy at first and stayed focused on the task in front of him.

Nico barely heard the door in front of him open and didn't realize there was someone in the room until they let out a small chuckle. He looked up and found his handsome boyfriend standing there with a small delighted smile on his face. Nico realized he had his face scrunched up from concentration and relaxed even though Percy made his heart pound hard. "So I see someone remembered my favorite color?" Percy said in a low voice as he moved closer to Nico. A warm blush spread across Nico's face and ears and he barely stammered out "It was kinda've hard to forget." Percy was right next to Nico now and was holding his hands while pressing their foreheads together. "You have some frosting on your face." Percy said as he kissed it off of Nico's cheek, Nico's blush grew hotter. Nico was stuttering and stammering and his mouth would not form words, he was embarassed how quickly Percy could get him this way. " And you have some right on your lips too, let me help you with that." and Percy pressed his mouth to Nico's.

Percy loved making Nico like this, He loved how warm Nico got when he kissed him and he also loved the compassion Nico had and was greatful for the beautiful cake. they kissed for a while more until it was 5:45 and niether of them were ready to go out in public. they decided to just stay in for Percy's birthday and had cake and watched 3 movies. Nico and Percy were both so lucky to have each other and celebrated Percy's birthday perfectly.
