The next day, as I sleepily walked out of my room, there was a knock on my door. I yawned and cane down the stairs. The knocking continued as I stumbled to the door. Sleepily, I opened it.
"Becky, Becky, Becky, Becky!" Helen came through the door.
"Tell me about your date with Brian!"
I smiled. "Wanna hear over pancakes?"
"Like you needed to ask!!"
As I made the pancakes, I told Helen about my date. "We went to a Chinese restaurant. Brian didn't have the money to pay for it—"
"Of course he didn't."
"I didn't have any money either."
"Oh no. What did you do?"
"A sexy guy came up to us and paid for it."
"Aw! That's so sweet. Who was it?"
"Just this guy. Then we walked to Brian's house, played twister, and then it happened. I had my very first kiss."
"Huh! You hadn't been kissed before that?"
"No. And then he French kissed me. More than once." I put the plate of pancakes down and sat next to Helen.
"Tell me more! Tell me more!" Helen clapped and smiled.
"No, he doesn't have a car."
She smiled. "Was it love at first sight?"
"I dunno." I chewed my pancake thoughtfully. "I mean, ever since I saw him, I thought he was cute.... But, let's talk about you and Joe, Huh?"
"Whaddabout me and Joe?"
"Oh, come on, Helen. I know it and you know it. And I can tell he really likes you?"
"Really?"
I nodded.
"How could he? I'm so fat!"
"Helen. Haven't you ever heard 'it's what's on the inside that counts'? And, you know, I can help you get into shape."
"Really?"
"Mmhmm. First lesson: portion control." I took away the rest of the pancakes and put them in the fridge. "Next: drink plenty of water." I grabbed a water bottle from the cabinet and filled it with ice and water. Handing it to Helen, I said, "Third, substitution."
"Substitution?" She asked as we walked upstairs. (I was still in my dress from my date).
"Instead of white bread, have whole grain. Instead of candy, dry strawberries out in the oven. They taste exactly like candy, but are organic, so they're healthy." I went into the closet to change.
"What else?" Helen asked, eager to know more.
"Regular exercise. Pilates, yoga, jogging, stuff like that." I came out in jeans, a red short sleeved shirt, and a bandanna in my hand. "Dancing is also a great way to get rid of calories. But not slow dancing." I smoothed my pony tail, secured it with a hair tie, and tied the bandanna around it. "It's really easy. You also have to cut out fast food and by-products. Chicken nuggets and the Like are good if they're white meat." I told Helen all about my diet as we rode horses.

A/N
Hi! I just wanted to throw a disclaimer in here. I am in no way a health or nutritionist expert. The things Becky says are the things I do. I'm not saying "you have to do this!" They are just suggestions, and work for me.
I just wanted to clear that up.
Happy reading!
