I wake up at dawn, sitting up from one of the beds that line the walls. I am stuck sleeping with Nix and Adara, well I didn't do much of it, they fought over who got the blanket in their sleep. I stand up and look out the bay window, sitting down on the soft padding. It is a perfect view. The sun hits the trees, making them look like shadows. A bite of the sun hit my skin and made me shiver with delight. I open the window and take a deep breath. It is so stuffy inside the room. The smell of nature fills me with joy as I stare and listen to the wildlife. It looks like they pick a location far in the woods, but where exactly? What realm am I in? The door to our adjoining room opens. I turn to see Nari standing in the doorway. He looms shy as he walks over to me. The room would have been silent if it isn't for Nix's snoring.
"I see you're an early riser too" his accent is smooth and inviting. I smile and nod, looking back at the rising sun. I can feel Nari move behind me, also wanting to look at the beautiful scenery in front of us.
"this is so beautiful. But it's nothing like Tellus, my country's capital. " I sigh.
"What is your realm like exactly? I hear the landscapes there are quite wonderful. " Nari breaks the silence, I smile, his banter sounds like court talk, trying to impress some queen or lord.
"Oh, it is wonderful. The greenest grass you will ever see. So much wildlife. The air is fresh, and the sun seems to shine brighter than it does here. " I ramble on and on for what seems like hours, but I don't care. My kind and nature mean everything to me, and Nari doesn't seem to mind either. He watches and listens while I talk, he seems to be hanging on to my every word. It is nice, it made me feel better. Nari told me about his kingdom, about his family. They seem wonderful. When the sun peeks over the trees is when people finally start waking up. First, it is Adara, who wakes up in a hazed state. She ended up pushing Nix off the bed, which made her angry. When they start fighting, it wakes Calore and Fin. They come rushing in and start screaming about how they need their sleep. The noises got louder after Alana, Melanie, and Kira finally wake up. The room is chaos, full of screaming and fighting, Adara wraps her hands around Nix's throat and Alana is pulling her off. They got into a screaming match and the room is overwhelming. Me and Nari sigh in disappointment, I watch as the girls try and kill each other and the other watch and yell, telling Adara to get off of her.
"stand back from the window" I am confused at first, a small smile forms on my lips, I stand next to him, our bodies so close I can smell his scent. It smelt like a breath of fresh air. The room becomes silent as a huge gust of the wind blows through the window, hitting everyone in the face. I try to stifle a laugh. Nari and I watch, I have to hold expression still, trying my best not to let my amusement slip. We look at the group to see them. We look at the group to see them glaring at us. Nix growls in anger.
"what the hell is that?!"
"you're both being childish. It needs to end, or we can't stop them and our kingdoms will fall to ruin. " Nari explodes into anger, as do I, which only makes them feel guilty. Good.
A knock on the door stops the noise yet again. Adara walks to the door and opens it, she steps outside, disappearing from our vision. The door burst open and Adara brings in a cart. On it is nine dishes. Some stacked on top of the others. They all have lids to hold whatever is inside. Underneath the cart seem to be a pot of black liquid, some water, and nine cups. Food and drink. I rush to group forming around all the dishes, there are our names on each one of them. I grab the one that does my name and reach for what I hope is a drink. I touch it, and it burns my fingers. Adara grins from what look like excitement.
"Oh my gods, coffee." she picks up the container holding the scalding hot liquid and grabs a cup, pouring the so-called coffee till it's almost overflowing, she hands the container to her brother, who also pours a cup. Adara takes a long drink and groans in pleasure. After watching that debacle I grab some water and sit down on the floor, I lift up my lid to see a beautiful salad. I grin and grab my silverware. A dull fork and a butter knife. There go any potential weapons. I sigh and dig in. It may be an odd choice for a late breakfast, but it is still good, nonetheless.
