"It's gonna be okay."

I stand next to the piano that Diana is playing on. When it's needful I turn the page for her. She is an amazing pianist. I don't really know what I'm doing here, but I had to go with Adam. He doesn't really trust me anymore since the last time I didn't obeyed. But, can you blame me?

"Grace!" Adam waves me over to him and Kyle. I look at Diana with an asking face, and she gives me permission to go over there. "Is there something wrong?" I ask with a concerned face. "Not yet." Kyle mumbles under his breath. "We want to keep an eye on Nathaniel, and we want you to do that too." I nod understanding.

"Oh, and we just talked to your new class assistant, and he is a really nice guy. Mike was his name, right?" He looks around to see if he can find him. "Mr. Miller is here?" They nod. "God, You two guys look like a married couple." I comment on their behavior. "Well, thank you, Grace. I am expecting a baby, actually." I laugh, and look over to the food table.

I see Minnie May dipping her finger into the cupcakes. The song Diana was played, ended. Everyone claps for her and then they go back to their conversations.

Diana and that other guy that is sleeping at Green Gables are singing a song together. "And for my brilliant and nimble accompanist." He says, pointing at Diana. "That you, good people of Avonlea. I have news:" I look at Kyle and say, "he is pregnant too." "My ship has come in. I've recently inherited some money and the first thing I plan to do is buy land in Avonlea!"

I narrow my eyebrows and look at Diana. "The second thing I plan to do is test my soil!" Diana shrugs and stands up. I sigh and look to my right. I see Nate putting something in his pocket, and he freezes when he sees me. He smiles and I walk over to him. "This house is filled with things almost as pretty as you." He chuckles. I roll my eyes and take his glass out of his hands.

I walk over to Kyle and tell him, "He almost stole something. You guys were right." "We are always right!" I push the glass into Kyle's hand and walk away from them. "Diana!" I run to the brown haired girl and ask her, "have you seen your dad?" "I think I just saw him walking over there." She points with her finger to a door, and I thank her and walk in the direction she pointed at.

"Wow, slow down." Someone says, when I bump into him. I look up and see Mr. Miller standing. "Grace, I wasn't expecting you to be here." I scratch the back of my neck awkwardly and nod. "Well... here I am."

"Nice... uhm, dress." I look down at my dress and look back at him. "I've been wearing this dress all day." Weird that he forgot that, since he has been in the same room as me all day. "I totally knew that." He lied and laughed embarrassed.

"So, how's life going?" He looks like he wants to have a conversation but doesn't know how to start. That, or he has to pee. "Uhm, good I guess." He goes with his hand through his hair and tilt his head a little bit. "That doesn't sound so good. You want to talk about it?"

I look around the room for Diana's father and sigh. "Well, I was looking for mr. Barry but, talking to you would be better." He chuckles and sits down on the stairs.
"So, What is going on?"

"Actually, I don't really know. There has happened a lot lately and it's going all really fast for me." He stares with his brown eyes into mine and nods understandably. "Okay, uhm- My best friend has been gone for almost eight months by now and, I don't know if he'll come back."

"I got some new friends and I've lost some. My brother has got a new girlfriend what makes me think why I haven't found anyone. There is supposed to be gold in Avonlea but me, my brother and Kyle don't trust Nate. Now I don't know what to do anymore." I rant.

It looks like mr. Miller has to take in all the information I just gave him. I sit down next to him and lean with my head on the stair above me.  "Wow" He says, not blinking for a few seconds. "First of all, I think you should trust Nathaniel or you can just ignore him. Second, that your brother has found a new lover doesn't mean that you have to find someone. You're young, you have all the time you want and need. Love comes when it has to be there."

He looks into my eyes again. It's like they're connected. I want to speak but no words come out of my mouth. I don't even have to speak. Our eyes communicate with each other. He sighs and puts his hand on my shoulder. "It's gonna be okay." I give him a thankful smile and say, "thank you Mr. Miller."

"Call me mike."
