Chapter 1
Mandy meets love
I swam under the water and I found that I could breathe. The fish swam past me, colours and colours filling my mind. I felt peaceful, more peaceful than I have ever felt. I sat on the sand on the bottom of the lake and I looked up at the circling fish and seaweed. I smiled and turned my head to see a man walking toward me. That's weird; I thought I was the only one that breathes under water. I stood up suddenly. He smiled at me and I found that he looked similar to me. His short black hair waving slowly waving across the current. His blue eyes sparkled and looked like the sea. He was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts. "Hello Mandy, how is your swimming doing?" I looked at him weird and scoffed. "How do you know my name?" He laughed. "I am your father!"
I woke up suddenly to the light outside. I moaned and looked at the clock. It was 5:00 in the morning. I might as well get up. I put on black leggings, a purple tank top and Uggs. I went down the stairs and out the front door. It was dark still. My long black hair swept around me from the morning breeze. I started to walk down the sidewalk, away from my broken down apartment. My mother always worked all day and night as a police officer. She trusted me with the house and I was 16. Old enough to look after myself, right?
By the time I was out of thought, I was at a lake. The same one from my dream. I looked around quickly and dived into the water. I could breathe underwater, like normally. I didn't know how I got this cool gift. I've had it since I started swimming when I was 5.
The water felt so good against my tired skin. It woke me up like a tazer. Shocking my skin with every wave. I swam through the fish, smiling at each one softly. The water ran past my body, tickling me gently and running through my hair. I stopped every few seconds to dive even farther and sit on the sand, running my fingers through the sand. Letting it fall and float away.
I felt the water ripple as it got disturbed. I saw a figure slowly float down and I could tell that it was drowning. He stopped moving and let the current take him the rest of the way down. I swam as fast as I could to him and pulled him up towards the surface, but he was too heavy. He started to drag me down with him. "Water of the lake, help me to the surface." I whispered slowly. I didn't know if it would work but I had to try. I felt the man get lighter and we got closer and closer upwards. Finally we reached the top. I looked to the side and saw a small boat on fire. I asked the water once again to take us to the shore. It obeyed. Once to the shore, I put him down on the dry sand on the beach and listen to his breathing. Nothing. I started to panic. It was a he, and he was beautiful. He had blond sandy hair, and was very tall and muscular. I brought my lips slowly down to his and breathed into his mouth. After minutes of SPR, nothing was working. Then this crazy idea went into my head. I put one hand on his heart and one hand on the water's surface. The water started to slip up my arm and disappeared into his heart. I saw a light glow and his chest slowly started to move. I laughed lightly and put my arm away. He opened his eyes suddenly and his eyes widened when he saw me. His eyes were a beautiful green. He started to try to speak but nothing came out. I smiled and told him who I was. He nodded and went out like a light. I smiled and got my boat out. Throwing him lightly in and paddled out to the sea. The sun hitting my back as it started to rise slowly.
Doran's POV
I was running from the Cyclopes, and his ugly steps got closer. I saw the sea and I took a dive into a boat. Cyclops's couldn't go into the water, but I knew it was a stupid idea. My father hated the sea, and the sea hated me. Crap, I thought to myself as I felt the waves coming for me. My head went under the water. 'Hades, help me'. The boat exploded and I was thrown into the sea.
I took a breath, and water replaced my oxygen. I couldn't move, nor see. I was weightless and I knew then that I was going to die. Suddenly, I felt myself reach the surface, pair of soft hands holding me.
My back hit the sandy shore and I didn't know what to do. I couldn't breathe, but I didn't need to anyway. I was pretty much dead anyway, being a son of Hades and all. Then, I felt soft lips, and soft breath breathes into me. This person was trying to help me, but she was starting to give up. I was letting myself go when I felt a warm glow over my heart and my eyes filled with light. There in front of me was a beautiful girl; black hair covered the sides of her face and her eyes. How could I explain her eyes? They were as blue as the sea. I tried to be my cocky self, but the sea water had ruined my voice. She smiled and she said her name was Mandy. I nodded and felt myself fall into darkness.
Mandy POV
He was beautiful; I ran my finger through his dark brown hair. He looked like death but I didn't care. I felt like someone had finally been brought into my life that might actually stay, but I was being silly. I just saved the boy and I already thought I was in love. Was I in love with him? I looked at him once more and warmth spread into me. That was a yes.
I lay down next to him, the sea gently rocking us. He didn't move as I laid my head on his strong chest. His muscles slightly shifting with every breath he took. I ran my eyes over his strong jaw, to his lips and I yearned to touch them once more. 'Be good Mandy, he just almost died and you want to attack him with kisses?' I shook my head and closed my eyes once more. I gasped as I felt his arms go around me and pull me closer. Snuggling closer, I fell asleep to sound of waves crashing and a slow heart beat of a guy that would change my life forever.

I really like this video on the side, the song reminds me of this story a little-
