Prologue

Spring 2k18

"Neveah come eat!" My cousin Naomi yelled from the kitchen.

I got off my bed and put my phone down and went to the kitchen.

I walked in and she was dishing out Mac & Cheese and Chicken.

"Hey ugly, this looks good" I yawned.

"Thanks, you got work tomorrow right?"

"Yeah I finish at closing time tho, you working too right?"

She nodded digging in. "I'm tired of working at that damn place H&M boring as fuck"

"How else we gone pay these bills bitch?" I laughed.

She rolled her eyes and continued eating. Once we finished I cleaned up the table and went back to my room.

I started working on my homework until I got a FaceTime request from Elijah.

"Heyyy best friend, I miss you"

"Wassup Nev, I miss you too what you doing?"

"Doing some of this stupid ass homework" I picked up the sheet of paper waving it in the camera.

"I see but when you coming to see me ma?"

"You should be coming to see me nigga you the one that moved all the way out in Canada" I rolled my eyes

"I'm actually coming down for Maya birthday as a suprise tho so don't tell her"

"Really yesss! but uh how is your lil girlfriend Tia?"

"She ain't my girl Neveah we just getting to know each other"

I mugged him. "She a hoe I don't know why you talkin to her"

"If you get to know her you'll see she ain't like that"

"Yeah okay don't say I didn't tell you so"

He laughed shaking his head

"Aight I go gotta go Nev I'll talk to you later"

"Okay byee", he hung up.

I looked at the time at it was '21:06' . I got up and went to take a shower and get ready for bed.

I got into a comfortable top and just wore my thongs to bed.

"Dring dring!"

I turned off my alarm and got out of my bed and went to the bathroom. I quickly took a shower and washed my hair.

Once I handled my hygiene I got dressed. I just put on a plain white top, black ripped jeans and some black and white vans.

I blow dried and straightened my hair then left it down and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast.

I decided on making French toast, eggs and some fruit on the side.

I was dishing out the food and Naomi walked in.

"Morning bitch, guess what!?" she exclaimed

"Wassup"

"Lucas hit me up last night talkin bout 'wassup ma' "

I laughed putting our food on the table. "He still tryna hit you up?"

"I know right I'm not going back to that nigga ever again" she smacked her teeth cutting up her french toast.

"Yeah aight you say that now but you'll be bouncing on his dick in no time"

"That's not true Neveah shut up"

I laughed and carried on eating.

We cleaned up and made our way to school.

I pulled up at the campus and got out as Naomi slow ass pulled up next to mine.

"You drive so slow" I shook my head.

"Uh no you drive too fast I ain't tryna get a ticket"

We walked in and saw Maya.

"Hey babe" I smiled and we hugged her.

"Hey yall guess what's coming up"

"What?" Naomi asked pretending to be clueless.

"my motherfuckin birthday!" Maya yelped and started twerking a little

"Ain't nobody care" I mugged her and she playfully pushed me as we made our way to class

"What you doing for it?" Naomi questioned.

"I'm having a party at my crib and it's gone be lit I started planning and of course yall gone help"

I raised my eyebrow. "What if I don't wanna help?"

"You ain't got a choice hoe" she pursed her lips looking at me.

We parted ways since we all had different classes.

After school got out me and Maya went to work.

We got changed in my car and went into the mall. Once we got into Victoria Secret we started our shift.

I was busy fixing the bras with Maya whilst talking about her party.

"Have you even asked daddy?you know he crazy" I giggled.

"Stop calling my brother daddy he ugly as hell but he going to LA on my birthday so there's no need to ask him but he might hear about it, he know everything that go down round here" she smacked her teeth

"Try and ask you never know he might say yes I mean it is your 21st birthday"

She shrugged and we carried on organising.
