I walked in the door feeling like the world was staring at me. I immediately wanted to turn around and go back home to Wisconsin...I mean I was more comfortable there right? "No, I have to do this for Ellie," I thought as I kept walking to the last row of the filled auditorium. After our parents died, Ellie, my blonde 5-year-old sister, and I were forced to stay with our mean aunt and uncle who could care less about us. Our brown-haired, blue-eyed cousin Tyler, who was about 19 and who had also lost his parents, took care of us. He always brought us food and other supplies whenever we needed something. Tyler and Ellie were the only good things in my life and I couldn't let them down now. I was going to start college in Missouri and get a degree so we could get out of the mess we were in.

Next to me was a tall brown-haired girl that reminded me of my best friend back home. My best friend was Claire, and she was what kept me going in school. Whenever I felt like quitting, she reminded me that Ellie needed me to get good grades, so we could move to a better place. Thanks to Claire, I got an amazing scholarship to the University of Missouri, which I couldn't let go to waste. I owed the world to her. Ellie, Tyler, and Claire were basically my family.

"Hello everyone and welcome to your first year here at the University of Missouri!" exclaimed a white-haired lady that kind of reminded me of the announcer lady from the Hunger Games.

"This year will be filled with challenges, achievements, and lots of reading! We will start off our presentation with everyone standing up and saying hello to the people around you."

I stood up and began to talk to the brown-haired girl.

"Hi, I'm Sophie. What's your name?" she said very friendly.

"Hi, I'm Lauren," I said quietly.

"Oh! Are you Lauren Cullin?" she asked.

Wait how did she know my name?

"Y-yes. Do I know you from somewhere?"

She chuckled softly. "No, the seats are in order by dorms. I saw your name on this sheet of paper...we're roommates!"

And we were instantly best friends.

"Alright, everyone be seated," the white-haired woman said.

Then, there was a really long presentation about school life, studying, and grades that I can hardly remember.

After the presentation, Sophie and I began to walk out of the auditorium and toward our dorm. I looked around and became aware that there was a set of eyes staring at me. From the other section that was leaving, I saw a blonde-haired boy, that kind of reminded me of someone I knew, watching me as I was walking. He smiled at me and then looked away. "Hmmm..." I thought. This would definitely be an eventful year.
