I laid there looking at my room. I had to mentally prepare myself for the day. Time to put my mask on and play happy. No one knows my past except my Mom and my best friend Sierra. As far as the rest of the school, I'm just the quiet bookworm in the back of the class. I jumped as my alarm went off. 6:30 already? Well time to get ready for the day then with a plastered on smile. I grabbed some clean clothes and headed for the shower. I let the hot water run down my body. I looked at my stomach and saw the long jagged scare. I closed my eyes and tried to forget about that night. I washed up quickly and got out and got dressed. I went to the kitchen and saw a note on the counter. "Camron I had to be at the hospital at 5 for my pre op rounds. Try to have a good day. I'll see you tonight and I love you" I smiles and looked at my moms note again. I sighed and sat in on the counter. I grabbed a cereal bar and walked to my car and drove to Sierra's house. I pulled up and parked out side and as of on que here comes my goofy bestie. She opened the door and her smile dropped. She knew. "How long were you up this time?" I shrugged. "I woke up at 4:30." I could feel her sympathetic eyes burning a hole in my face. "I'll be fine". I heard her sigh "Camron.." I held my hand up. "I'll be okay. I always am." I looked over and saw her hitting her lip, holding back tears. "I just hate seeing you like this. I love you and you're my best friend. I just wish I could help." She whispered. I smiled weakly at her and grabbed her hand. "I love you too.." I said as I parked my car in my assigned spot. We both got out and walked to the school. "Time for a smile." I whispered.
