Chapter 1

Her shrill screams cut through the silent nights air.

"Tianna! Tianna! Wake up!" Mrs. Kershaw was frantically shaking Tiannas shoulders, desperately trying to wake her from the nightmare.

Tiannas wide, rich brown eyes shot open and she sat bolt upright.

"Mum! Mum." Tiannas sobs became muffled by her mothers nightgown.

"It's okay, baby, I'm here." Mrs. Kershaw rocked Tianna gently, stroking her back in circles and soothing away the dream.

"It was terrible, mum. It was him again, he-" Tianna broke off in sobs, her petite body shaking.

"Shh," Mrs. Kershaw soothed Tianna, but her mind was whirring with thoughts.

'Shes getting worse and worse - she needs to see someone. Fast.'

Finally, Tianna's sobs started to slow down, and she eventually succumbed to fatigue.

Mrs. Kershaw slid out of Tiannas bed and made her way back to her own.

Tomorrow. She would ring the counsellor tomorrow.

"Tianna - are you ready yet? You really should be leaving soon!" Mrs. Kershaw yelled up to the teenagers bedroom.

Tianna walked down the stairs, looking gorgeous yet casual. Her brunette hair was loosely curled, complimenting her chocolate brown eyes which shine with anticipation.

It was her first day of her new school. But Tianna was not nervous - oh no. She was excited to see her best friend after months of talking over the webcam.

"Yeah, bye, mum!" Tianna poked her head into the kitchen.

Mrs. Kershaw trotted over and hugged her tight.

"Good luck! Just stick with Jasmine and everything will be good and fine! Have fun."

Minutes later, Tianna slammed the car door behind her and gazed at the stone and marble building in front of her. She could not believe she was actually here. Here! At Graveson High School!

'Well; it's now or never.'

She began striding towards the huge double doors, fishing around for her iPhone to contact Jasmine.

She tapped in a quick text to her best friend and then hid her iPhone away again.

Tianna received her timetable and her first period was Algebra. Great.

A wolf whistle from here, a cat call from there but none of it fazed Tianna. It was great here. In fact, anywhere was great compared to her old dump of a school.

She finally found her algebra room but she was early.

Tianna dumped her belongings on a desk at the back and slid into the plush chair.

As students filtered into the classroom, they stared and whispered but Tianna ignored them all. One of Tiannas morals has always been, 'Got a problem? Say it to my face.' The girls at her old school never whispered about her after that.

"I think you're in my seat." A velvety voice confronted Tianna.

With an over exaggerated sigh, she turned around to face an extremely hot young man.

With that tousled blonde hair and those electric blue eyes that seemed to look right through your soul...he sure radiated 'player'.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Tianna gave him a sickly sweet smile - and then it turned sour. "Too bad, so sad. Now get lost." And with that, she swivelled back around in her seat to face the front, crossing her arms over her chest in a defensive position.

"Um, I'll repeat myself. You are in my seat!" The boy exclaimed, Tianna could tell he wasn't used to being treated like this.

Tianna inspected her nails.

"Your point being..." By now, they had the whole class' attention.

"Dammit, I don't who you are or who you THINK you are but you're in my seat - I sit right there! Now move!" Tianna could tell she was pushing it - she didn't even know this dude. But he was a player and players need to be taught a lesson.

She motioned towards the desk.

"I dont see your name anywhere on it." That earnt her a couple of sniggers from various members of the audience.

The boy walked right up to her, and placed one hand on the back of her chair and one on the desk; successfully boxing Tianna in.

"Who are you?" he whispered, searching her wide eyes for any revealment.

"That's for me to know and you to find out." Tianna smirked, pushing his away by his chest. "Go on, little boy. Sit down before Sir arrives."

The boy stared at Tianna, hard, before finally caving in and sitting at another desk.

Just then, Sir walked in.

"No. Freaking. Way!" Jasmine giggled. "You and Blake?"

Tianna picked at her fries and burger.

"Yeah. It wasn't all what you've made it out to be though Jazz. He's actually irritating."

Tianna and Jasmine were sitting at the 'popular' table - seeing as that's where Jasmine belonged. Tianna was then welcomed there because she was Jasmines friend.

It turned out that Blake - Tiannas newly found enemy - was also part of the popular table. They sat on opposite sides to eachother, sending the other the occasional glare every so often.

"Back in a minute." Tianna said bluntly, abruptly standing up and walking over the bin to throw away her food.

Seconds later, Blake appeared next to her.

"Tianna - yeah?" He confirmed her name, and she nodded.

"Look, I just, uh...I just wanted to ask if what happened earlier...if we could just put that behind us?" He managed to string a sentence together. He obviously wasn't used to having to work hard to even have a decent conversation with a girl.

"Sure." Tianna walked away again, trying to make the conversation as short as possible.

"Wait, I'm not finished!" Blake jogged to catch up with her again. She was walking briskly, obviously eager to get away from him. "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime. I mean, I know you've just moved here but I really want to know some more about you and-"

"No." Tianna cut him off, walking faster than ever. "Sorry to break it to you, golden boy, but I only have decent guy mates. You don't fall into that category. Dont even get me started on boyfriends. Nice try though."

She sauntered away, leaving him dumbfounded in her wake.

'Dayumm, that girl sure is something.'

But Blake did not mind. Sweet or sour, naughty or nice, he loved a challenge.
