To put it simply, Sarah is a cynic. She's never really enjoyed the things that the world has to offer, nor does she intend to (unless there is some sort of alcohol, indie music, or Chex Mix involved). Not only is Sarah the ultimate introvert, but she's wildly bisexual and secretly in line to be valedictorian. Day after day she does what she knows how to do; but when Trevor enters her life, Sarah may finally learn the biggest lesson not taught in school: how to have fun.
Trevor jumps into her high school midway through September (not late enough to draw excess attention but still not at the same time as the rest of the student body) and at first glance he is too outgoing for his own good. But people aren't lining up to to be friends with the new kid wearing over-sized hipster glasses. Despite his scholarly appearance, his grades are far from A's, but he has a cute dog and a charming smile which should be enough to get him through senior year.
When Trevor waltzes into Sarah's life, he realizes that underneath her edgy exterior lies someone who might be the best thing to ever happen to him, and this is the story of how it happened.
