You laughed a bit nervously, as you pushed some hair back into place. Wesker took his hand off of your cheek and you looked from the kind letters your team wrote about you back to his black sunglasses. "Well, how can I say no to that?" You say half asking how you can really say no to that as if you didn't know you had a choice. "I believe it would be in your best interest if you didn't." He responded elegantly, still slightly leaning over you. You had no idea what came over you but before your brain could process anything except how nice the warmth on your cheek felt compared to the rest of your cold face your mouth took off without it. "I'll do it then." You told him absentmindedly. "Good girl." he said with a smirk, fully backing away from you to go sit down with the rest of his files. You took the time to regain your composer and stood up from the desk yourself.
"Well then since you saved me the trouble of having to... persuade you any further, I'll cut to the chase myself. What are you doing at lunch?" He asked casually while glazing over a few files in his hand. "E-excuse me, Sir?" You find yourself studdering while laughing a little nervously again. "Allow me to explain, I was hoping someone who knew the area would be able to assist me in getting more acquainted with it. I've already been here a week and haven't found a single place worth eating at." He corrected himself before looking up at you over the papers in his hand just a bit. "Oh well, I do know a few places with good food not too far from here." You spoke up happy to give a recommendation. "Wonderful, I'll meet you out front at 12 then?" He asked standing up and walking you to the door with his warm hand placed gently on your back. "Um, sure. That'll work." you tell him with a big smile as you walk out of the conference room. "Great, I'll see you then." he added before nodding you goodbye. You nod back at him eagerly before running off to go tell Marvin and the rest of your team the good news!
You jogged down to the main office where you work to see all of the members of your team huddled by your desk just waiting to hear the news. M.J. was the first to see you and the smile on your face grew even bigger you ran a bit faster to get o Marvin and wrap your arms around him before he could see you. Even though h didn't jump he was surprised by the attack. "So, how did it go?" Brian asked impatiently staring at you with his arms crossed. "Well when I first walked in there I was going to turn down the interview altogether, but it turns out a certain group of people wrote some really nice letters about me and I couldn't let them down." You teased them. "Wait so you got the job?" M.J. asked excitedly. You nodded your head up and down in response to them before you were pulled into a BIG group hug. "I'm dying." Kevin wheezed out before squirming out of the hug. "I'm so proud of you." Marvin said sincerely as everyone pulled out of the hug. "I just can't believe you all wrote nice letters about me." you laughed particularly looking over at Brian while you said it "It's not like we had a choice Marvin made us." Kevin defended though you could tell it was only because he was embarrassed. "I only wrote mine hoping it would get rid of you, couldn't have you making me look bad anymore." Brian joked. M.J. hit him in the arm sharply. "Is that why you made everyone read your letter over for you to see if it was good enough to turn in?" He taunted. "Well, I had to make sure (Y/N) got the job somehow." He shot back a bit defensively. "Yea I'm sure your letter was the only thing considered for (Y/N) getting the job." Kevin replied sarcastically. Brian took a step at him like he was going to fight him before Marvin stepped in between the two. "That's enough now, this isn't about you two." he scolded them like he was their dad. "Fine." Kevin said without even batting an eye. "He started it." Brian complained like a child as he backed off once more.
"So (Y/N), do you know which team you made?" Marvin finally asked. You paused for a moment thinking to yourself. "I don't think Wesker mentioned it." you responded. "Wesker?" Marvin asked with a cocked brow. "Yeah he's Captain of Alpha team, I guess I could ask him which team I'm on at lunch." You reply thinking of where you were going to take him. "Wait you have a date with the Captain of Alpha team!" M.J. blurted out. "Shhh, it's not like that! He's just new in town and wanted to know a good place to eat." You desperately explained while covering M.J.'s mouth. Thankfully you didn't think the entire department heard him, but some strange looks were cast in your direction from a few of the fellow officers in the room. M.J. rolled his eyes sarcastically at you as if he was saying "Surrrre" and shook away your hand from his mouth with a smile. Brian laughed to himself a bit, but Kevin didn't seem all that amused. If you hadn't known any better you would have thought he was jealous or something. Marvin once again broke the silence. "Well, date or not we should all get back to work if we want to eat lunch sometime today anyway." He said as a friendly order to hIs team. They understood right away and scattered back to their desks.
You sat down at your own desk to finish up any work you had before lunch. This would probably be one of the last times you did any work in this office, with your team. You were ok with that and really appreciated all of the help they had given you. All you wished now was the best for them.
(Go to LUNCH)
