Fire Girl and Water Girl were inseparable since birth. Both came to be bearing the mark. One with the moon, the other with the sun. Despite their names, the twins did not posses any power, at least not supernaturally. The one bearing the moon mark, Fire Girl, could charm any man or woman to love her. She was as sneaky and deceptive as the moon itself. She broke hearts left and right, staying with everyone, saying "I love you." over and over. But the one bearing the sun mark, Water Girl, was often overlooked by her flamboyant sister. She didn't mind this, as she knew the fire within her sister could only be kindled with envy from others. Like the sun, she brightened everything, gave off hope like sunbeams. Water Girl was very true to her name. She was calm, quiet. Still, like the lifeless pond that lived by her little house. The girls' widowed mother was the one who had named them, but the old woman was growing too fast, quickly leaving her precious daughters behind. She had to send them out to fetch water, or bring food from town. Water Girl enjoyed these quiet walks with her sister, but Fire Girl did not.
