------------------------------------------------------

Connor is sitting on the edge of the rooftop, its been six months from the time they were transferred and he got used to the place. He sighed and looked at the overlooking view of the streets of Detroit.

"You can't sneak up on me, you know." the middle aged man suddenly spoke up.

"Obviously. Nice view right?" Hank went beside him and sat down also.

"Yeah, it is.."

"Are you okay? You've been spacing out earlier.." he asked worriedly.

"Its his death anniversary today.." Connor looked down and took a deep breath.

"Who?"

"My old partner." he replied.

"Sorry to hear that.." Hank answered sympathetically.

Connor remained silent and looked around. "It's not my decision to get a transfer after all."

"Wait, I thought you decided-" he looked at his partner.

"No, it was my brother's idea." the detective answered. "Everyone in my department hated me, they think it was my fault that he died."

"What? I don't get it.. How that makes you responsible for his death?" Hank became puzzled.

"I let him do it instead of me.." Connor started to tear up. "If I was the one who made the run, he could've live."

"Wait, so your partner was the one who took the bomb and made sure that it was far from the civilians?" he remembered the news awhile back about a terrorist attack in LA.

Connor nodded slowly. "At first I should be doing it, but he suddenly took the bomb before me.." He hid his tears but they started to come out. "After that, everyone blamed it to me. Because I was f*cking slow."

Connor started to cry and looked away. Hank remained silent for awhile and pulled the man in a tight embrace.

"It's not your fault, you know.." He said softly. "He wanted to save everyone so he did that."

"But it should've be me.. Not him.." Connor whispered.

The lieutenant remained silent but comforted the detective. After a couple of minutes Connor pulled out from the embrace slowly and stood up.

"Where you going?" Hank asked as he stood up as well.

"I'm going back to my apartment, I'm tired." Connor started to walk away and looked back at Hank. "Thanks, by the way.."

"For what?"

" I don't know...Just being there for me I guess." He smiled. "And the hug also, I needed that." he left the old man alone in the rooftop.
