BRIAN CROWN: TORONTO CANADA 10AM. UNNAMED HEADQUARTERS.
Can something be a total fail but a success at the same time? Because that's exactly how I would explain last night. We were supposed to be getting to know each other and I learned absolutely nothing important at all about any of them. But I laughed. Not a fake acting laugh, but an honest to goodness that-was-funny-and-these-are-my-friends laugh.
Yes I said friends. Because that as close to friendship and genuine real ness as I had gotten in a long time.
And I had loved every second of it.
It wasn’t super eventful or anything. We fought in groups, we fought in pairs, we had single fights. We laughed about how stupid the fights were, and we laughed at how stupid we were for fighting. Then we fought and laughed some more. By the end of the night we all were completely exhausted and pretty much drunk on fun. We talked seriously for the first time that night about mostly random things. Somehow by morning we had all agreed that we all had fun, and we would definently do this again.
I’m kind of scared now though. These people knew more about me than anyone else. Though they actually knew next to nothing personal they still were closer than anyone had been in a long time. I even felt like that might be changing soon. If we kept this up pretty soon all my secrets (and maybe theirs too) would just be out in the open. And if I thought I had a lot of ‘personal matters’ then I don’t even want to think about how many they must have. Copious amounts for sure.
I’m not going to let this get to me though. Even if they do get closer than expected I’m just going to roll with it. Because like I said they were closer than anyone had been in a long time. There was no acting, no pretending, just me.
And I loved that.
Later today we were supposed to met D in the ‘control center’. Yes that’s really what he calls it. I thought it was cliché too.
Nevertheless we were supposed to meet him there so we could find out the whole reason we came here. Minus the money and majorly cool resources. Christie was going to let me know when the meeting started. For some reason this D guy hadn’t actually spoke to us directly since Pittsburg. Now everything he had to say was sent through Christie. D was clearly playing favorites. Not that I was jealous or anything because I mean I barely knew the guy. Even still if I was him I would pick Christie as leader too. Not for any particular personal reason just because she had those leader qualities that people are always talking about. You know those seminar thingies you have to sit through in school (yes I did actually go to school) about leadership because the adults think it would help improve you somehow, and they tell you all about the qualities of a good leader. Yeah those are what she had… with a few extras. There you go Christie Leonard stereotypical class president.
Speaking of which we were all kind of high school stereotypes. That is if we went to high school. Carter would be quarterback of the football team for sure, and maybe play baseball in the off season just to stay sharp. Probably have cheerleaders and such all over him; your typical jock/player type. Bree would be one of those cheerleaders (not to say she fawns over him) and maybe a dancer too. She has that kind of grace about her. I can easily imagine her popular or whatever it is girls are always trying to be in the movies. Ryan’s your classic geek/nerd: kinda scrawny, extremely smart, messy brown hair, etc. And Tara would be one of those environmentalist chicks you see starting protests and stuff. As for yours truly I might play some basketball but I would definitely be a drama type of guy. Acting is my specialty after all. Well actually grifting, but there around the same thing.
