*Duncan's POV*
"Duncan, it's time," my triplet sister, Isadora called to me. I was going to go on The Bachelor; yes, I was that desperate for love. I hadn't even thought about even liking a girl since the two of us were torn from out friends, the Baudelaires. It had been ten years since we said goodbye and at the time, I expected it to be longer. Sunny, the youngest, had to be maybe 11, since I was thirteen when I met the one-year-old with fabulously sharp teeth. Klaus was the middle child and the only boy; Isadora had a giant crush on him. And lastly Violet Baudelaire. She was incredible and if it weren't for Count Olaf, I might have gotten to go out with her. I could tell she liked me back, but we were both far too shy about it to really do anything about it. She was smart, funny, interesting, and especially gorgeous! I was surprised at myself that I had never shoved her into the broom closet my sister and I were forced to stay in at that horrible school and kiss Violet's face off. So, I felt like I needed somebody in my life. Izzie was there on the sidelines in case of there was a catfight or something. I also ran all of my crushes by her and she offered me her opinion on them when we were younger.I decided to wear a dark - and I mean dark - purple three piece suit. It looked tacky to me but Isadora assured me that the color brought out the gold flakes speckled into the green in my eyes. She wore the same color in a velvet romper and black knee-high boots. Quigley, my other triplet would have been there, but not only was he on an expedition with his snobby cartographer friends, but he was a ladies man and I was worried he might try to steal one of the girls that I might've had a fondness for.
Thankfully, I didn't need to worry much about having a fondness for most of the girls. The first limousine pulled up and a blonde woman with extremely plump lips and bright green eyes stepped out wearing a short sapphire blue dress with a deeply plunging neckline. She had apparently heard about the fact that my family owned sapphires. "I'm Christie," Christie introduced herself, "And I'm a gymnast. I'm very... flexible... when it comes to dating." I smiled ingenuinely, although she didn't seem to notice or mind. I was told there would be twenty girls this season and eighteen more girls showed up. Some made flashy entrances and had somewhat cheesy things to say that went with them. Each girl also wore a form of sapphire blue dress; occasionally, I would notice that a few of them were even wearing the same dress. Each girl seemed to get dumber and dumber, though. One woman named Bianca just fell out of nowhere and I attempted to help her up. She said it was nice falling for me and walked away. All these tasteless jokes made me a little annoyed...
"Last limousine," I whispered, hoping that it would be a better choice than and of the other nineteen ladies inside right now. A black strappy heel with a few small diamonds appeared on the ground as the door swung open. I took A deep breath. A beautiful woman wearing a deep purple gown appeared. Her brown hair was long and straight with bangs that covered her forehead. Light makeup was applied which brought out the rich brown in her eyes and hair. I had a comfortable feeling that said I knew her. She approached me with a gorgeous smile as I remembered where I met her. The hair. The eyes. The smile. And it was obvious she liked the color purple. She quickly wrapped me into her arms and whispered my name.
"Violet?" I asked in disbelief. She nodded, "Long time no see. I missed you terribly, Duncan." I blushed as she pulled away; her face was also bright red. She had grown up to be even more beautiful than I thought she would be and it just made me feel insane to have such vivid memories flood back. Me holding her hand tightly as we listened to the 'music' of Vice Principal Nero. Her running her fingers along my sweater, looking for a loose string. How Isadora and I fought to keep them by our side. "I missed you too, Violet. Head inside and I promised I will pluck you first. We can catch up then." She nodded. I could tell it made her green with envy that there was more than just her and it wasn't pleasurable for either of us.
