Chaaa! I'm already six(6) months old! I've been waiting for the perfect moment to say my first word. It is actually pretty hard since I haven't been able to train my vocal muscles much because of my parents' nonstop "check-ins" Alas, here I am! I've been practicing whenever I could, and I have decided that I want my first word to be "metanoia". A bit strange, I'll admit. However, it means "a transformative change of heart; especially: a spiritual conversion." I think that it is quite spot-on! I break from my thoughts when Okasan places a bowl of yogurt and strawberries in front of me, on my highchair. She takes one(1) and puts it near my mouth, waiting for me to eat it.
I open my mouth and smile after swallowing. I look her in the eyes and then look over at my father, who is smiling softly. I open my mouth, and let a word slide out, "Metanoia!" To say that my parents were shocked would be an understatement. "W-a-wait... I don't think babies should know that word! Honey! What have you been saying to our daughter?" Damn, okasan seems pretty upset over this... I mean, I know it sounded perfect, but it was only because I practiced that one word over and over. I smiled to myself, it seems that I am already becoming a prodigy.
Other than that, I'm tired and its time to sleep. With that last thought, I let myself slip into a peaceful slumber. Well, at least as peaceful as it can get with Okasan screeching at Otosan. Hmmmmmmmm......I wonder if I should take my first step tomorrow...
The next day, I woke up to Okasan picking me up and putting me on the living room floor. She looks me in the eyes and I feel my little baby body shiver, "Sakura, sweetie, what do you want for breakfast?" Ohhhh...so this is what she playing at! She wants to test me and see if I can talk completely, or if it was a one(1) time thing. Haha! Two(2) can play at that game! "Twoast!" Oooookkkk I kinda meant to not talk like that, but whatever. Okasan's eyes held both surprise and frustration. I guess she really wanted me to give her full sentences. "Of course sweetie!"
With that, Okasan goes to the kitchen and starts to make toast. I look right, to where my toy was, and adopt a look of determination. I feel the muscles in my legs tighten and flex as I stand, and eventually take a step. Then another. And another. Chaaa! I got my toy! Damn! I must have taken a long time because when I looked towards where Okasan was making me toast, and see her staring at me with her eyes wide. Weeeeelll...I guess practicing at night paid off!
I wonder if Hinata is having as much luck as I am...
