"Here, take a seat next to Ariana." As soon as his eyes meet Sappira's his face turns pale. "Go on. She won't bite." Everyone laughs. I smirk at the thought of someone being afraid of my little girl.

I feel like a have to puke but I'm happy at the same time once he sits next to me. It's not the best feeling in the world but I guess it's not the worst either.

There's not many boys here. Which is kind of a bummer cause then I don't have anyone to marry when I'm older. I'll just be old, lonely and saggy.

It's been, what, like six years maybe when another boy was here. Yeah. Sounds about right. I take a long look at Diallo. Kind of staring.

Maybe.

He has jet black hair that sweeps against his forehead. But the thing that puzzles me is that he has white skin.

Like me.

Maybe I'm not so different after all. His skin is a little tanner than mine. Probably because he has been out in the sun unlike me who is under the canape of trees for basically my whole life.

He's wearing a pair of shorts I think the white men that dropped him off gave him.

His eyes. They are so beautiful. Light blue with whitish blue streaks all over. I have blue eyes too but his are to die for. They remind me of my waterfall. So pretty.

The waterfall. Dang I forgot I look like a jungle girl.

I think I'm gonna wash up. The chief is now in his tent.

"Hey Chief! " I call. " I'm heading over to the waterfall. Want me to show the newbie around? " He comes out chuckling .

"Yeah. I was just going to ask you that anyway." I walk towards him a bit.

"Hey new kid! " His head pops up as he was looking as his shoes before. He points to himself, confused. I nod my head sarcastically lifting my eyebrows. I don't really wanna talk to him but what else is there for him to like? My looks? Ha! Sure.

We walk for a few minutes until he asks, "Where are we going?"

"Waterfall." I few more minutes pass by.

" You don't talk very much. I've overheard some people saying that you talk so much that there ears fall off. But... I guess that's not the case here. "

"Okay for your information, I talk if I like you. Soooo I guess that not the case here either. " I snap back.

" Youre talking to me now, aren't you?" He smirks.

"Ugh. Just... ju- Sappira where are you?!? She leaps out from a twelve foot flower. She moves close to the ground and circles Diallo. "Settle."

She growls at him showing her teeth. I scratched her behind the ears and she relaxes but never talked her eyes off of Diallo. What's on your mind. "Sorry" I apologize." She doesn't normally act like this."

She gets up glares at me and stubbornly makes her way into the grass about ten feet away with her tail between her legs.

"That's alright, there's always those animals who hate you for nothing. "

" Ummm...nope not me. " He looks at me with doubt.

"Come on. Really? "

"Nope. I guess I'm just good with animals. " I look around at our whereabouts. "River should be right around- here it is!"

"Wow. " Diallo stares in awe.

" Beautiful isn't it? Well I'm gonna wash up a bit. Here. " I hand him a knife. His eyes grow wide. Lots of wild animals. They'll kill you. "

"Why do you have this?!? Does the Chief know? "

"Heh...where do you think I got it from?" I say rolling my eyes. Girls aren't supposed to have knifes here which I think is completely sexist. So I let chief know my opinion on it. I told him about all the dangers of the jungle and he agreed...but on one condition. One sloth a moth. I think that is still completely unfair but if I argue I won't get one at all. Plus one sloth isn't hard to get. Just climb up a tree and pull it off. Then it hugs you and you shoot the crap out of it.

" Why? Do you think I can't be trusted? You know girls have just as much right as-"

"I want saying that" he cuts me off. "I just didn't know you had a weapon." I look at him confused.

"Why wouldn't I? I always have a knife with me. You never know when or where something could happen. " Why is he so suprised? We are in the Amazon. "Anyway, I'm going to go wash up. Let's meet here in five" I leave to go behind the waterfall.

I scrub my head at realize my clothes are starting to irritate me. I'll have to change when i get back. I stick my head under these water fall and the water pressure feels good in my back. I step through it and go into the cave. When i first got accepted into the tribe, i found this place. Inside it are a bunch of shinny rocks i pick from the river to remember my first day. Then there are a bunch on pictures on the wall that i drew with some paints i made. The are animal skins all over the place so if i do decide to run away for a bit i won't freeze to death

On my first day i just wanting to get away for a bit, so I looked and looked until I found a place here. I look around at the painting and see a silhouette perched next to the rocks. As an instinct I pull out my knife.

"Hey! Hey it's just me!" Diallo says while stepping out. "Do you know what these are?"

"Rocks. " I answer plainly.

"This is gold Ari! This could make us rich!"

"Diallo, no. I found these when I was little. The day I became one with the tribe. I can't let these go for paper money." Wait. What? Did he just call me Ari? A nickname. Hmm. Why would he call me that? Maybe it's just a friend nickname

But maybe it isn't.

"So these are yours." He states, "So this must be your cave. "

" Yup. Now hands off the rocks kid. " I say jokingly but really I kinda want to yell at him. I don't care if the worth a penny. They're special. I put to fingers between my lips and let out a long whistle. As we make our way towards camp, Sappira pops out of the bushes.

"That much gold is enough to get a mansion and keep it for your whole life!"

"What's a mansion? "

"It's a huge house with a pool and a 20 car garage and a flat screen tv! It's 2015 everything's out there! "

"I have no idea what any of those things are but I'm guessing there all expensive. Wait. How do you know what all of these things are? Didn't you come from another tribe? "

He laughs, " No. I came from a home in America. Let's just say my dads crazy. "

I've never thought of a world outside of my own. Sure my life as a kid was different but that was a long time ago. I don't remember much. A world without trees everywhere with animals. I wouldn't want to live in a world like that.

"Oh. " Sappira is leading the way as usual but she keeps an eye on Diallo, glancing back every couple minutes.

"Do we have to go to back yet? "

"Yea. Sappira needs some sleep. And so do I. " I say after yawning. I wonder why she's acting so weird around him.

" Hey before sunrise do you want to go somewhere with me? "

"Sure. But where too?"

"That's for me to know and you to find out." He walks off with a smile.

I wonder what he's thinking. I wonder where we're going.

I spot my tent and untie the door. I lay in my blanket and let Sappira under the cover. My thoughts go to an ease, and I drift into a deep sleep.
