The soft patter of raindrops filled the room, calming the figure sitting in the corner of the enclosed space. Her hand moved in elegant strokes and her pump pink lips were parted, letting out soft mumbles every once in a while.

" '...hope it's going to be alright.' He held her hand and brushed it with his lips, letting a full smile envelop his youthful face." Alyssa smiled, letting her pen fall onto the cold, hard surface.

A sudden flash of movement caught her eye and she turned, heart racing as she raised her fists, ready to face the supposed threat.

She gasped in shock as the gentle face of a woman appeared, her freckles accentuated in the low lighting of the room.

A warm hand reached up to touch her forehead and Alyssa felt a sudden rush of power engulf her. The figure smiled before letting out whispers.

Strange words met Alyssa's ears and she struggled to understand them. Just before she could ask for the meaning, the woman made eye contact with her, blank eyes unseeing but filled with happiness-

"Look down..."

-and then she was gone.

Looking down, she opened her hand only to see a glowing orb. It had mist of all colors swirling around it giving an eerie glow. Its center was a deep pink color. Alyssa screamed in surprise and leaped out of her chair.

She held a hand to her chest and stared at the orb. Its rich colors illuminated her face and she couldn't help but stare in wonder. Then suddenly-

"What's wrong?!" her aunt came in looking ridiculous in her sleep wear while holding a baseball bat. Her eyes flashed yellow for a moment, before going back to normal once she realized that her...niece wasn't in any danger.

That revelation did nothing to calm her nerves, though. The hint of magic particles in the air only raised her suspicions.

"Nothing, I just tripped," Alyssa lied through her teeth and gave out an uneasy smile. "Just go back to sleep."

'Phew...can't have her dying on me now...not after all my hard work. Though I wonder, was there someone else in here?' Thought Emerald, still tense but dismissing the thought nonetheless.

"Sleep as well my dear. You have a long day tomorrow," her aunt said, painting a fake smile on her face. Alyssa held back a yawn and her eyes drooped, making her realize just how tired she was. Her eyes darted to the center of her room, disappointed to find that the woman was not there. She let out a sigh before dismissing the incident.

'It was probably just a trick of the light. Gosh, I really need to get some sleep.' With that thought, she leaped into her bed and let the whistling wind lull her into a deep slumber.
