I am Avril, just an average girl. I am a 3rd year Engineering student. My parents died and left me with my little sister, May. I am now the bread winner and I work part time in a restaurant. I just transferred from a new school. I always come late because of my work.

Avril: Am I? Do I really have to join?
(The Engineering day)
Girls: (watching run race) Go Duke! OMG! He’s so cute even with sweats…
Avril: (whisperring) He’s not even an actor… (drinking soda)

( Few hours later at Avril’s house, Duke knocks.)
May: Who is it?
Duke: Hi little girl. Kindly, call Avril and tell her it’s Duke.
May: Ok. I’ll just call her.
Avril; (wearing just a night dress)(cooking) May, who is that?
May: Someone is looking for you. It is Duke.
Avril:( confronts Duke) Stalker! What are you doing here?!
Duke: Stalker? I am just returning your I.D.
Avril: I must have dropped it… Thank you. You can go now!
Duke: So much as a thank you huh! By the way Avril, nice body! (laughs)

The next day, I saw him with Jam. They look like they are dating. What on Earth is happening?! Jam deserves a better man! Why am I so mad? Is it because of him or…because of Jam? No way that I’m falling for Mr. Attitude Problem! Jam is always with him. She no longer accompanies me.
(the next day) Duke: Hey Avril… Please hold this bouquet of roses. I will just go to the c.r.
Avril:I am not your maid! Ok… Just hurry up.
(1 hour later)
Avril: Duke! He left! And what am I suppose to do with this roses? I think he’s giving this to Jam. Ok he’s sweet and all that.I did not see Jam so, I have to bring it all the way to my classes. It was so embarrassing because they are all looking. I saw a card and it says, “I love you… That is not easy to say…” My heart beats fast. Duke really loves Jam. The next day, I saw him with Jam again. I wad going to tell Jam about the flowers Duke gave her, but she is ignoring me. She is too busy talking to him.
(few hours later)
Duke: Hey Avril, please hold this letter. I will be back.
Avril: How about the flowers? Be back ok?!
He did not come back again. Why does he leave his things to me?!
I read the letter and it said, “ The first time we met did not go right. You are different from any other girls. I like to know you better, so I am talking to your friend. I am asking how you will like me. I love you Avril.” My heart is beating fast. I am so confused so, I asked Jam.
Jam: Now you know… I thought you were stupid enough not knowing anything!
Avril: Jam… But I thought you were dating. I’m sorry.
Jam: He’s just talking to me because of you! He asks me how you will get to noticed him.
Avril: I didn’t know Jam… Please don’t get mad at me. We are best friends.
Jam: Yes, we are… But Avril, do you love Duke too?
Avril: I don’t trust a guy like him but…
Jam: If he loves you… He will change. Give him a chance Avril.
(Jam leaves and Duke enters)
Duke: Avril, I can’t find the words to say. That you are the most beautiful girl I’ve seen with a messy hair. You are the simplest girl but the most attractive girl for me. I love you.
Avril: Duke, why do you keep on bullying me?
Duke: I just don’t know how you will notice me.
Avril: If I give you a chance, will you change and be a nice guy?
Duke: Only if you give me a chance. A cute guy like me deserves a chance you know? (laughs)
Avril: I will love you only, if you take me seriously.
Duke: Stop talking and just say it!
Avril: Fine! I love you too Duke…
Duke: (laughs) I am just playing serious. And now you are my girlfriend! Got’cha!
Avril: Wait a minute. Seriously?
