(You tear out a page from your journal and grab a pen from your desk. You press the tip of the pen firmly on the first line and think about what you want to say.)
[Y/N's thoughts]: My dearest friend, I have loved countless of men and women in my life, but none of them can compare to you and how you make me feel. Blinded at first? Yes; I was blind. I have only realized this now how much I love you. You've sat and listened to me bicker about each and every person I crushed on like it was clockwork. I ask you once more to listen about each one of them again. You remember the jock from Highschool? Of course, you do. You told me not to talk to him. But I did. I liked him a lot that guy. I'll never forget Lance's face. He had strong cheekbones and a fine jawline. His piercing green eyes would always crease along the sides whenever he would smile or laugh. What I thought we shared wasn't love..It was infatuation. Or maybe it was all just the sexual tension we had. He used to tease me throughout our elementary school days up until our freshmen year of Highschool. It wasn't until the party at your place. Everyone was invited, even that boy you used to hate.
-Flashback-
Y/N: Hey, you should invite Allan. He seems to really like you. Give him a chance.
Friend: What do you mean? He doesn't like me if you haven't noticed. He's always a jerk to me.
Y/N: You know what they say if a boy is mean to you, it actually means he's into you.
Friend: Yeah whatever. I still don't think that's a good idea. You know I'm interested in someone else. I would just break his heart in the end.
Y/N: You never know he might be what you need.
Friend: *annoyed* Fine.
Y/N: *giggles* Yay! I love playing matchmaker.
(You put your arm around her and give her a squeeze as you guys walk to class)
-End of Flashback-
You guys were hitting it off on the loveseat couch of yours while I was talking the night away with Lance. We were the talk of the school the next day and for the rest of the months we spent together. The girls in every corner of the school thought it would last, but like most typical Highschool romances, it didn't. He moved the next summer to some country hundreds of miles away from us. Long distance relationships rarely worked he told me. And that was it. I was crying on the end of the call and I could hear a girl's voice in the background on his end. I ended the call and you were right there to hold me. I didn't think much of it then. I mean anyone would've thought that's what any good friend would do, right? That's what I thought.
(You end your letter there and seal it in an envelope.)
