Waking up

Conor's P.O.V.

As soon I saw Jack I knew I had to take a step back and let him handle this himself. I was so happy that my best friend had just found the one thing he has been waiting for for so long. A mate.

'Do we need to have his back Alpha?' One of my pack warriors asked me through the mind link.

'No, he has found his mate' I told them all.

All of a sudden, Maddie ran towards him and we all jumped in shock to make sure Jack wasn't in danger. We were on our wits and jack looked shocked as she ran up to him but we all calmed down when she wrapped her arms around him and started sobbing into his shoulder. He calmed down and you could tell he was trying to figure out if this was really happening or not.Once he realised it was really happening, he held her closer.

"Shhh, it's okay. We're going to take you away from here, somewhere safer. Your real home" he told her and she nodded her head.

We all started to walk out when all of a sudden, Maddies legs gave way and jack had a gentle grip of her as he lowered her to the floor. "What's going on? What's happening to her!" He asked franticly with panic etched onto his face.

"I-I- can't-can't breathe" she rasped out. Her breaths were becoming a lot more stressed as she point to her side.

Jack lifted her shirt a little and exposed her rib cage. We all hissed as we saw the dark bruising on her ribs which were looking a little bit mis-shaped and swollen.

"Go back to the pack house! Tell the pack doctor to be ready!" I ordered my pack warriors. They all took off running and I looked at Jack. He was staring at A very pale Maddie who was struggling to breathe even more now.

"Jack, she's going to be okay" I told him.

He picked her up gently and we ran in the direction of the pack house.

Jacks P.O.V.

I ran as fast as I could with my precious mate in my arms. I used my wolf hearing to listen to her heart beat, it was slowing down. This only made me run faster.

I look down at the pale, battered and bruised figure in my arms and even though she looks dirty and sick, she is still so beautiful to me.

"Hang in there princess, you're gunna be okay" I tell her. I can see the pack house in the distance and within no time, I am in the pack hospital and handing over my world to the pack doctors so they can fix her up and make her better again.

I can't lose her. Not when I have only just found her. Please, please let her be okay.

Maddie's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes and felt groggy. I could hear beeping of a machine and I could feel a tube coming out of my hand.

"Hello Maddie. How are you feeling?" A man asked me. He was at Mrs Greenwoods house earlier on but he wasn't the one I hugged. The one I hugged was...Jack? Jack I think.

"Bit better. What happened?" I rasped out. I was wearing an oxygen mask so my voice was a lot quieter.

"You had a punctured lung. Your ribs cracked and punctured it. The doctors managed to give you some drugs that will speed up the healing process of your ribs." He told me. I nodded.

"Umm. I-I don't know your name?" I asked him.

"Oh, sorry! Alpha stone but you can call me Conor. Any friend of Jack is a friend of mine" he told me with a friendly smile.
