“I don’t get why no one likes anime!!!” I mumbled taking one last glance at my best friend, Daisy, as she shook her head giving me a disapproving look.

“Haley, its not that no one likes anime just the ones you watch are… how do I say this… weird, scary and brutal?” She stated shutting her notebook and putting it in her backpack. The bell rang and I was dismissed from German. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door. Daisy gave one last wave, and I saw her disappear in the crowd of teenagers.

“My anime choices are not weird!” I dismayed opening the door leading to front of the school. I figured an anime fans dream would either go to an academy or wear school uniforms, and I was living the dream. I went to academy and we wore uniforms.

“Haley!!!!!!!!!!” My little brother and sister called from my mom’s car. They both waved from the back seat and I gave them a smile.

“Hey kiddos, and mom” I said reaching for the car handle. My mom gave a warming smile that reached deep into my heart. Once we reached home I ran to my room, slipped off my shoes and settled into my bed. I grabbed the remote and pulled up my anime shows. I am currently watching an anime called Another and its scary. The show started and for some reason my vision blurred. Then the beginning of the anime song was distant and I felt like I was falling into a hole. Then the world was black.

I woke up in a classroom that was absolutely familiar. I placed my hands on the ground and lifted myself up, noticing that my uniform was completely different. I grabbed the skirt examining it, then the shirt and realized it was the same uniform from the anime Another.

“No… no how could this happen?! I’m in an anime show!!!” I gasped and rushed out the classroom. A blurred vision of a boy appeared and I was on the ground once again... He fell with a sickening thud, and then looked at me, eyes full of horror and shock.

“Wh… who… wh...” he stuttered and pointed at me, “you’re the extra!! Don't kill me I swear I didn't do anything” his face shrill then he stopped pointing, still looking fearful.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know who you are nor do I even know why I’m here.” I said grabbing the uniform and wiggled. He picked himself up and put out a hand.

“Kōichi Sakakibara and what's yours?” He asked. I took his hand and gently shook it.

“My name is Haley Frost and I actually live in America….. Where are we?” I asked letting his hand go and glanced around. He looked at me weirdly then met my gaze.

“We are at Yomiyama North Middle School not far from Tokyo…… Exactly why is an American here in Japan?” he responded. Realizing we were at school, he grabbed my hand and started running. I passed classrooms, with their doors closed and murmuring inside. He stopped abruptly making me crash to the floor.

“Do I have bad luck falling on the ground today?!?” I mumbled collecting myself… again.

“I am assuming your new but how old are you and what grade are you in?” He asked ignoring my question.

“I am a freshman...” I paused seeing the confusion in his face, “.... meaning I am in ninth grade.”

“Then you're in my class 3-3 come on I must introduce you.” he said sliding open the door to the classroom. My heart stopped upon seeing the students. I knew Mei Masaki the mysterious girl whom no one ever talked to, the “extra”. Izumi Akazawa the head of countermeasures, Yūya Mochizuki an art student, Tomohiko Kazami who is a class delegate, and Yukari Sakuragi the girl who dies not far from this “episode”. There were a few more students I remembered but forgot the names. The class looked baffled at the scene and I started backwards when Kōichi grabbed my arm.
