Mystic Falls, 1864

Stefan waited outside his home with some of the staff as a welcome to the new guest in their house. That's when a carriage showed up, and out stepped the most beautiful woman Stefan has ever seen. Instantly taking his breath away.

"You must be Miss Pierce." Stefan smiled.

"Please, call me Katherine." She smiled back with a curtsy.

Then Skylar came running out of the house, holding her dress so she didn't trip.

"There you are munchkin." Stefan smiled picking her up as Katherine glared at Skylar, making her frown.

"And whose this?" Katherine asked with a fake smile and dropped the glare, not going unnoticed by the little girl.

"This is my niece, Skylar." Stefan smiled. "Sky, this is Miss Pierce, why don't you say hello?"

Skylar just hid herself in her uncle's shoulder, not liking the new woman at all. She felt there was something off about her. And little did she know, the wolf genes inside her made her not trust Katherine as far as she could throw her.

"My apologies. She's somewhat shy towards new people." Stefan said then lead Katherine towards the house, holding the door open. "Please, come in. I'll give you a tour."

"That sounds lovely." Katherine smiled.

Stefan put Skylar down and she ran upstairs to her room, not wanting to be anywhere near the woman. Katherine frowned watching the little girl run upstairs, not liking her at all since she's getting the attention from her uncle. The attention Katherine wants all of.

In the months that followed, Skylar felt all alone. Her uncle was spending more and more time with The she-devil, as Skylar likes to call her, and her father was at war, fighting for the Confederacy. That was until she looked out her window and saw her father and uncle playing with a ball outside.

Skylar quickly ran out of her room only to bump into the she-devil herself.

"Watch it!" Katherine hissed, pushing Skylar to the floor before making her way towards the library.

She sat on the ground as the impact of the floor and Katherine's push hurt her. Skylar looked up only to see a kind looking woman with a concerning look on her face.

"Are you alright?" The woman asked helping the little girl up.

"Yes, I'm okay. Thank you Miss." She nodded.

"Your strong little one." The woman smiled.

"I am?" Skylar asked as her eyes filled with hope.

"Yes, very much so." The woman nodded. "What's your name?"

"My names Skylar, Miss." Skylar introduced herself. "What's your name?"

"My name is Emily. I actually used to know your mother before she passed."

"Really? What was she like?" Skylar asked.

"Emily!" Katherine hissed, glaring at the little girl.

"I'm sorry. I must go." Emily apologized to the little girl and went to Katherine.

Skylar frowned but then shrugged it off, running outside and saw her father trying to get the ball from Stefan.

"Daddy!" Skylar yelled running outside as her father caught her and gave her a big hug before picking her up.

"There's my little angel!" Damon smiled. "How was Uncle Stefan and Papaw?"

"Boring, as usual." Skylar shrugged as Damon let out a chuckle.
