How it all began

Radioactive City AU

It all starts in a small city with some tall/short buildings and mostly just houses where humans and anthro animals lived amongst eachother in harmony. They worked together and helped eachother out. Even their kid's played with one another. Rain lived in a small house with his wife and his son outside of the city but not too far away. Rain awoke from a terrible dream that left him in cold sweat. It was so realistic..
He decided to brush it off but he was still a little shaken from it. He got dressed and head off to work in a hurry  forgeting to kiss the picture of him, his wife, and his son goodbye. Snowflake worked farther away from the city and it was take your child to work day, She needed to wake up earlier than Rain needed to. Fast fowarding to when Rain was in the city walking down the sidewalk to his job.
The sounds of people talking, cars, footsteps, and little children laughing filled the area. Rain was still focusing on that dream he had, he arrived at the building he worked at and walked inside. Suddenly the sky grew dark and there was a eye stinging aurora in the air and it made everyone in the city start to cough and gag. Rain heard all the coughing and gagging and looked out the window only to see a huge meteor heading down at a fast pace towards the middle of the city..

No one had the time to react before it hit the ground causing a huge explosion along with green gas spreading in the air. Rain watched in horror as humans and anthro animals in the area started to transform into monsters and beasts. Some ran away screaming and some tried to help the people transforming only to be killed by the beasts in the process. Screams and cries filled the city as Rain's nightmare came true.

Snowflake was driving back home with comet in the back seat. As she got closer to the city she saw fire, destroyed buildings and green gas in the air in the city. Tears started to appear at the corners of her eyes as the city she lived in was being destroyed. She felt a shock inside of her as suddenly remembered Rain and started to drive faster. She drove past her home and parked in a near by feild outside of the city next to the chaos unraveling inside of it.

Meanwhile, Rain was panicking and scared for his life, he took a gas mask and some bandanges from his desk. He worked as a scientist so he had these things for special occasions. He put the gas mask on and ran outside through all the destruction and screams. He avoided some monsters and falling rocks passing injured people and the sounds of crying. He ran past a child trying to help their mother get unstuck from a rock, Rain helped and moved the rock and watched the two run away into an alleyway.
Suddenly a monster anthro cat scratched him on the back, he yelled out in pain and hit the beast with a rock and ran as fast as he could with a deep burning pain in his back. He became weak and hid in a small house that was abandoned and barricaded the door. He called Snowflake on his cell phone. She picked up and Rain told her to not run into the city to look for him and that its too dangerous but she insisted on finding him.
Rain told her that he was hiding in a yellow house and then the call got cut off. Snowflake brought along a base ball bat for defense and had Comet in her arms running through the streets hitting monsters that got in her way knocking them out cold. She saw the house Rain said he was in and climbed through the window only to see an empty living room and a barricaded door. She called out for Rain and heard him on the other side of the couch. She walked towards him only to see the large scratch that tore through the back of his lab coat.
Suddenly black spikes tore through his back and he threw his gas mask down and turned around to reveal the left side of his face and his right paw transforming. She screamed out and hid Comet behind her. She didnt realise that Rain still had some sense left in him and told her to grab a syringe from his pocket and inject him with it. She did what he told her to and he stopped transforming before anything got worse. She wrapped bandages around the left side of his face to hide the monster side and the spikes on his back retracted downwards. Now they have to fight through the monsters and help survivors to find a cure to stop this terrible curse.
