The alarm clock went at sharp six-thirty and I heaved myself off my bed. Yesterday, I had checked my mail and it said that I had to be there at eight so I had just one hour. I strolled to my closet and picked up a peach V-necked dress that fell just above my knees. Dropping it on the bed I paced to the bathroom and undressing myself, turned the faucet on.

The luke warm water washed over my body and cooled my senses. Like that day I don't want nervousness to take over myself and ruin everything. And to be honest there isn't anything to be nervous about, basically I had the job now and all I had to do was go and do the work that I was assigned. They had also mailed some information about my work, what it really consists of and the working hours and as far as I could articulate, my work was to organise and keep a record of the meetings and deals the company did, take care of the 'busy' schedule of the Mr. Malik and go through the manuscripts that were passed on to me from various employees before they go to Mr. Malik. That was basically too much of a work for a novice like me but I received a handsome salary for it so it quite summed it up.

After I was done with all the scrubbing and washing my self I took a toothbrush from the drawer just beneath the sink and squeezing some toothpaste on it, I brushed my teeth in the shower. Then, wrapping a towel around my naked body and I stepped out of the bathroom.

A cold breeze crept through the slightly open window and a shiver went down my spine. Pacing to the window I shut it and pulled on the violet curtains, I don't want any jerk to have a good time there. Wearing my bra and underpants, I took the peach coloured fabric into my hands and slid it on. The dress was very sober and the colour was a bit dull, something I could wear to an office. I quickly blew dry my brown hair hair and brushed it, letting it fall in loose curls. Putting on some concealer to hide my freckles and adding some mascara to my eye lashes, I looked at the mirror and sighed. Finally.

Hunting for my phone which I found under the duvet, I found that I still had forty minutes left. But I could again get into a problem like that day and be late. It's better to be early than to be late. His words then rang in my ears as I felt the hair on my skin rising, don't bother to be late next time. His intoxicating smell of spearmint mixed with cigarettes had infected my senses and I found myself dreaming, again.

I should probably get going. Before leaving peeked into Ella's room and found her fast asleep in her bed. Obviously, what else did I expect? I slipped into my comfortable wedges and grabbing an apple from the kitchen on my way as well as the keys I took my dark brown blazer from the vestibule and left, shutting the door behind me.

The ride from the elevator was quite as I was alone there, the usual. Except me and an old couple that lives on the ground floor no one here seems to be a morning person, not even El. As the elevator door slid open, I shivered from the outside temperature. It was cold enough, even though my arms and body was warm but my legs, they felt cold. I should better have worn a pair of jeans and a shirt, I groaned and then I let out a sigh.

Still shivering from the exposure, I made my way to the taxi stand across the road and this time, unlike the last time there were many cabs there, waiting for their passengers. Overwhelmed, I announced the address from my phone to one of the taxi drivers who nodded his head as I took a seat behind the driver's seat.

The ride to Niaz lasted for only ten minutes as we were welcomed by a traffic-free road and I praised my stars for it. Opening the door of the cab, I stepped out. The birds were chirping and the sun had risen higher in the sky, its rays blinding me. I paid the cab driver and trying to camouflage the fear and nervousness building inside me with a smile, made my way to the tall building, the façade of which always exuded an air of mystery.

As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the the familiar view. As I could make out, Brittany stood at the reception in to middle of the hall. I approached her with a smile.

"Good morning, Miss Cooper " She said in a warm tone and I could say that I sort of like her.

"Good morning and you can call me, Eve." I smiled at her and she gave me a grin and opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by the ringing of the intercom. I stood there, one hand holding the strap of the bag on my shoulder tight and the other one resting on the reception table. I felt so uneasy and preoccupied that I didn't notice when she got off the phone.

"Eve, you have to be on the twelfth floor now. " She paused for a while as she examined the paper she was holding in her hand and I wondered what it contained.

"As soon as you reach there, you'll be shown your cabin and will be reacquainted with your work by Susan." Brittany gave me a slight smile as she introduced Susan to me who unlike me was tall and beautiful girl with dark brown hair and green eyes. Inspite of the fact she was impeccably beautiful her makeup screamed overdo. I gave Susan a lopsided smile who smiled back.

We made our way to the elevator as Brittany's words kept ringing in my ears. Your cabin. My cabin? So basically I am going to have a goddamn cabin. We both entered into the elevator and I tried not to ponder over it but isn't a cabin too much for a novice like me? It definitely is.

My thoughts were interrupted by the clicking noise made by the elevator door as it slid open. I followed Susan as I stepped out of the eerie silence of elevator. From the corner of my eyes I could see Brooklyn sitting at the reception, a phone again in her hand. She's always on a phone. Busy woman.

Susan then guides me to my new cabin which to my dismay is just next to Mr. Malik's cabin. She pushes the door open for me on which 'Personal assistant' was imprinted in bold letters. As I enter, I take in the beauty of the medium-sized cabin. It must be half of Mr. Malik's cabin but it was big enough for me. Susan took a few more steps and grinned at me, her red heels clinking against the white marbled floor. But I was too busy in marveling at the perfection, three walls as usual painted in pure white and one just behind my seat in deep red on which a huge portrait of what looked like a lady was hung gracefully. Three navy blue couches took a place in the corner with a small center-table in the middle. There was a bouquet kept on my table with a few files. Everything was decent but perfect, just like I had always wanted it to be.

I moved further into the room to explore more, trying to let everything sink in before it actually becomes mine. Walking to my black-leathered chair I span it around and giggled to myself, truly oblivious to the fact that Susan was staring at me and probably making quick conclusions of me being an idiot.

I raised my head to take a quick look at her but before I could something caught my attention. To my right, instead of a complete wall there was rather a huge see through glass, from which I could have a good view of Mr. Malik's cabin and he, of mine. He wasn't to be seen anywhere and so I presumed that he still hasn't arrived.

Technically, whatever I do here at any point of time could be seen by him. It's not that I was planning spend all my day doing nothing but knowing that someone is having a look at you at all hours, excluding the lunch hours gets quite uncomfortable for me but I can't do anything about the matter. The man has more things to do than to look at me all day.

I shrug my shoulders and turn to face Susan who still has the same smile on her face. Robot. "Thanks for this, this is a lot more than I thought It'd be." I sighed and then giving her a smile, walked to her side.

"Niaz Enterprises is quite unexpected, Miss Cooper." A smile that reflected pure pride took over her features.

Oh, okay.

"Indeed. " I looked around myself and sighed, my lips forming into a small smile.

"So talking about your work-" I interrupted her in the mid of her sentence.

"I had read everything that was mailed to me and I think I know what my work requires me to do. " I tried my best to not offend and gave her the warmest smile possible.

"Okay then, Miss Cooper. Mr. Malik will be arriving soon. Have a good day. " And with that she left.
