Mary's POV
Life's been going great for me, I've got a good boyfriend who I visit everyday, a family who cares for me and would die for me, and friends that would do anything for me. The summer holidays had just started, I had just finished grade 9 and I was on a call with my boyfriend, Trevor. We talked about what we would do together, and that made me most happy. Not long ago, I overheard my mum bickering on the  phone to her stepsister who lived in England. Her exact words were " she can't come here, she won't fit in" My curiosity filled me as I walked over to the Kitchen where mum was cooking, and asked her; "was that about..." . We both knew who and what we were thinking about so there was no need for a answer. Her niece, who was so spoilt was coming to visit. I've been dreading the time to see her, and now it's finally here, I don't know how to act. Anna and I were complete opposites, she would wear gold accessories and I would wear cheap Walmart things. I couldn't care less what I looked like, and she would spend possibly 3 hours checking herself out in the mirror. It was two worlds colliding.

2 months later

I get woken by my buzzing alarm, and know today's the day where my peaceful life is interrupted by a city town girl, hard to believe she's my cousin. I decide to wear my favourite comfortable black jeans and put on a peach ripped hoodie, I put my hair in a high ponytail and put on my converse shoes. On the drive to the airport, mum kept reminding me to "be on my best behaviour, and to be kind, and to show a good example" Not to be rude, but it's not me you should be telling this to. Ouch. But; being the lovely girl I am, I will listen to mums advice.

Anna's POV
Today was the day I had to go on a plane and stay with my dreadful, cheap cousin for 2 years. I can't stand her, or her house, it was like living in a pigsty. But; being the courteous, lovely girl I am, I will behave and keep the truth to myself. After a four hour flight, I arrive at the airport and see two women, who I recognise immediately, it was them. I have to admit, the way Mary's hair was put up, made her look kind of pretty, her clothes were not. She was wearing black baggy jeans, and a ripped hoodie. I scanned her outfit up and down, her eyes then meet mine and we both seem to fake a smile. I awkwardly walk over to them with my 5 suitcases filled with clothes, and give them a short hug and a fake smile. As we drive back to their house, all I can think about is mum sending me here and why it had to be this place. My mum said "I needed to meet them, because they were my long lost cousins". I snap back from my daydream as Auntie Mel asks how my flight was. I said it was good. We arrived at their house, and it was just as I expected it to be, small and in need of a renovation. I keep my harsh, crude comments to myself as I enter the hallway, which is filled with photo frames, of Aunty Mel and Mary, photos of Mary and a guy she's hugging, I assume it's her boyfriend. As I stop and look at one of the photos, a small creature jumps at me causing me to squeal and make Mary and Aunty jump. It's a hairy, black furred thing. I think it's a dog. I've never been a fan of dogs, all they do is lick you, and ask food. If you wanted that, just get a small child.
