Rose Weasley and the Secrets of the Ministry

Chapter One: Summer is Almost Over

"Keep running!" Rose shouted to a girl no older than eleven years old. "Or I'll have to put the Imperius Curse on you! And you think that's not bad? Well, maybe I'll use you to kill everyone you love, and then tell you!" Rose Weasley yelled to Lily, holding a stick in her arm.

"No!" Lily replied and kept on running. But it was too late. Rose had caught up with her cousin.

"Imperio!" She yelled, then Lily got up.

"Hello, You-Know-Who," She said in a robotic voice. Laughing, Rose collapsed onto the grass and threw the stick away. Lily smiled. "I want to get a wand today, Rose!"

"I have to keep on training you," She replied with a smile. "What would you do if some was actually trying to put the Imperius Curse on you?"

"Duck, try to disarm them, and run. If you do disarm them, grab their wand."

"Exactly."

"Now can I get a wand?" Lily replied impatiently. "You can Apparate and I don't even have a wand! How can I do anything important?"

"Shh..." Rose replied. "What if somebody heard you? The Ministry would never forgive us!" Lily sighed.

"I just want a wand. I'm not very useful without a wand! And I have all my other school supplies..."

"Only because Harry went and brought them to you!" Rose retorted. "You have to go and get a wand. The wand chooses the wizard!"

"If you didn't keep me so busy with stupid games..."

"Fine, you can go get a wand," Replied Rose, pulling her real wand out if her pocket. "After we go see Victoire."

"Why? You keep me so busy with Ministry training that I can't even go to Diagon Alley and that can't even get a wand..."

"Shh," Whispered Rose again. "The dementors are coming. I'll have to Apparate." That was one of the good things about Rose's responsibility, once you got a wand, not only were you able to do more advanced magic inside school, but you could also do it outside of school, and the Ministry would teach you how to Apparate. Anywhere. Since she and Lily Potter were cousins and best friends, Rose had trained her to keep the Ministry's secrets too, but that kept them both busy. Usually too busy for a trip to Diagon Alley.

"Of course," Lily moaned. It was one of the Secrets, the real purpose of the dementors that roamed the wizard towns. Unlike the Ministry had told everyone else, the dementors were not examining an interesting case that could mean more spells invented. They were looking for someone. 

"Come on! And don't forget to disguise yourself!" Rose added quickly. Both girls, strangely, could change their appearance without wands. The only other person they knew like that was Teddy Lupin, a twenty one year old wizard who was friends with both families. Lily's long red hair instantly became black and curly, and her blue eyes were green. Rose made her herself taller, her hair short and curly, and her eyes brown.

Grabbing onto Rose's arm, Lily turned around, and just as she dissapeared into a place that was dark and creepy, noticed a figure staring right at them.

"Rose," She whispered, but her cousin was looking into a different room, where their other cousin was, and so was Teddy Lupin.

"James was right!" Lily exclaimed loudly, as she looked into the room, remember what her older brother had said two years ago. "They are snogging!"

"Shh."

"Fine," Lily replied, and then whispered, "they were a lot more fun when they went to Hogwarts." Nodding, Rose walked outside, looking for Bill and Fleur. 

They were Aunt and Uncle to Lily and Rose, but they had no idea about their disguises, so it was alway fun to trick them. But before they came into sight, a dementor appeared about seven meters away.

Before Lily could grab onto her arm, Rose Weasly was gone. 

"Oh no," She whispered as the dementor came closer. And then she started running.

"Wait!" Someone shouted, and Lily instantly recognized the voice of her third year brother, Albus. "How can Rose Apparate?" He added quietly.

"That's none of your business!" Said Lily, still running.

"Fine!"
