Evelyn Gates isn't you average teen. She believes she is a Tree. The reason why people breath. Apart of nature. She doesn't fit in with anyone. Not even the Outcasts. She is a target for her being different. Then there's Carter Griggs. He admires her from a far. The average High School hot shot. He plays football, every girls dream boyfriend, and doesn't listen to the rules. He always had a thing for Evelyn since 3rd grade, but never had a chance to talk to her. He is afraid he might get shunned by his fellow peers. This isn't your average story of girl meets bad boy and changes herself, then becomes popular. This is the story of how Evelyn Gates shows Carter Griggs how beautiful life is in her eyes.
