The morning after the Chaos Soldiers arrived, there was tons of gossip buzzing around. It was breakfast time, and everyone was in the Dining Pavilion. I grabbed one of the little cereal boxes full of Fruit Loops and buttered toast and sat over at the completely empty Poseidon table. Chiron cantered over to the center of the room, and cleared his throat.

"Good morning, faculty, campers, counselors, satyrs, nymphs." I said. "Good morning, Chiron." The others chorused back. "Today, our training begins." All of the campers looked around at each other and whispered, confused. "Settle down." I urged. "Now, as you know, Lord Chaos's soldiers have arrived yesterday." I stated. "They are here, because they will help us prepare for war, battles, and violence." Everyone looked uncomfortable. I could not blame them, the Chaos Soldiers did look quite intimidating. Their pitch black cloaks covering their bodies, hoods covering their faces. "You will each be getting a schedule, soon after you leave the Dining Pavilion." "It will tell you your activities for the day, when you have them, and who will be your teacher." "Alright, that's it for this mornings announcements, thank you." said I, and I trotted away.

Soon after I walked out of the Dining Pavilion, a folded slip of paper magically appeared in my hand. I opened it up, only to reveal my schedule for battle training with the Chaos Soldiers. My eyes scanned the paper. In the first box on my schedule was Pegasus Riding with "Lovely One", whoever that was. Next, I had Archery with Moon and Constellation. It really bothered me how I had absolutely no idea who these people were, and why they had such funky names. In the box below, the text said I had Arts and Crafts and Forging with Fire. In the last box, I had Sword Fighting with Beautiful One and Alpha. All of my activities went through in a blur, then I looked down at my schedule and saw it was time to go to my last class, Sword Fighting.

Luke, or Alpha, and I waited for a little while before the class showed up. Luke leaned on his sword, Backbiter, like an old man with a cane. I took out the sword I had used to practice Sword Fighting with Hazel on the Argo II, that seemed like forever ago. I slid the sword into the belt I was wearing and turned towards the class. My eyes scanned the group, and my heart did a little gymnastics routine when I saw him. Jason was staring into space, his sky blue eyes looking focused, his shaggy blonde hair fell across his eyes. He looked extremely handsome, but I was here to teach a class, not gawk at some guy who had cheated on me. "Alright." I said. "Today, we will be learning the disarming move, one of the most important moves in battle." "Now, don't worry, you will be equally good at this, no matter offense or defense." I spoke. "I do defense!" Someone shouted. "No, no I do offense, offense rules!" Another shouted. "Quiet!" I yelled, and everyone immediately fell quiet. I explained the motion of the disarming move, and paired everyone up. They would take turns disarming one another. I paired everyone up until there was only one person left; Jason. The class was an odd number, so Jason would have to go with either me or Luke. I desperately wanted Luke to take him, but he was too busy hacking a hay dummy to pieces. I sighed and grabbed Jason's arm, pulling him over to an empty space with lots of room to practice.

The way this soldier did things reminded me so much of Piper. The way she (at least I think it's a she) smelled like honeysuckle, the same way Piper had always smelled. The way she talked, and the way she grabbed my hand. No, I thought to myself. This couldn't be Piper, she'd disappeared about a year ago. I always thought it was my fault, I felt so ashamed of myself. Then again, I never got to tell Piper the whole story, why I had kissed Reyna in the first place, but she just stormed off, not letting me explain. Before I knew it, we were practicing. The soldier swiped at my feet, but before she touched them, she suddenly swiped her sword up to my wrist, knocking the sword out of my hand. "Never let your guard down." She said. "That's an advantage for monsters, and a pathetic way to get killed." I nodded. She was a little strict, but she was only trying to help. Even the way this girl used a sword was like Piper's. I was starting to get convinced this girl was really Piper, but I waved away the thought, it was silly. I wasn't nearly as good at the disarming motion as this soldier, but I got it at the end. The first couple of times she would jump sideways, so I was out of contact with her wrist, but eventually, I got it. Before I knew it, Sword Fighting was over. I walked back to my cabin to freshen up for dinner, thinking about Piper, only Piper.
