The silence in the room was deafening. Each side was wary of speaking, for fear that what Deceit had just said would be true.
"Logan," Roman started cautiously, "what do we do? What about Thomas? Do you think Deceit would be able to leave like Virgil did?"
The logical side glanced up at Roman, then muttered "I don't know." in shock. "I- I believe that Deceit could leave and lose all influence over Thomas, including us." Logan said quietly. "I must go to my room to do some research." He continued, beginning to sink down.
"What do you mean you 'don't know'? You're logic. You always have the answers!" Roman burst out. "You can't just leave us!"
Logan froze, mid sink. He rose up and stood, unable to move. Then, he met Roman's inquiring gaze with one so cold, one could say the temperature in the mindscape dropped. His gaze was cold, harsh, and was powerful with emotions. "I know all that, Creativity. But I can't have all the answers. I know I should be Logic, hard, unfeeling and mechanical, but I'm not." Logan's eyes lit up with a blue light that vanished almost as quickly as it appeared."So please, leave your silly outbursts to yourself and leave me alone. I might be able to bring some insight to this predicament." Logan said, voice filled with raw emotions, before sinking out of the room completely.
The other sides stood gobsmacked, each thinking different thoughts.
Roman's head swirled with regret and worry. Virgil's with panic. Patton's head, well, Patton was thinking about a lot of things. He thought of how he could bring Deceit back and make him feel welcome. He thought about his secrets, the ones he wanted to stay secret. He thought about how idiotic he was for not resolving the conflict before it escalated to this.
Logan soon returned, the others looking hopefully at him. "What'd you find teach?" Virgil said, breaking the silence. "Deceit can duck out, like I suspected before. This means that until he returns, we cannot deviate from the truth in the slightest and neither can Thomas."
