My Girlfriend Just Bit Me!

"Dorian, remember to see me after school.", my teacher, Mrs. Edwards said.

Great, just what I wanted to do.

Spend time in detention.

Mrs. Edwards was the mother of my girlfriend, Polly, and she thought her daughter was way too good for a guy like me.

So, she decided to make my life miserable, hoping to split us up that way.

"Yes m'am", I mumbled.

Just as the bell was about to ring, my best friend, Connor burst in the room, looking terrified.

"Everybody run, it's the zombie apocalypse!", he screamed.

"Yeah right, Connor, you said that last week!", shouted a girl with platinum blonde hair from the back of the classroom.

That would be Polly.

"And the week before that it was vampires running rampant in the school!", shouted Polly's twin brother, Max.

Connor was the class clown. He loved pulling pranks on people.

But I had never seen him this scared, so for once, I believed him.

I got up to follow him out.

"You're not seriously gonna believe him, are you Dorian?", scoffed Polly from her seat.

"Sit down, Mr. Fitzpatrick.", scolded Mrs. Edwards.

Not wanting to upset my girlfriend, or her mother, I did as I was told, and took a seat.

Connor looked at me like he was already mourning my death.

That sent shivers down my spine.

"You guys don't have to believe me. I hope you all have peace in the afterlife.", he said while looking directly in my eyes.

"I'll miss you.", he said, with a tear rolling down his face.

And with that, he was gone.

There was silence.

Then the silence was broken when Mr.Trent, our science teacher broke through the door and headed for a student who was about to leave the room to go to the restroom.

He grabbed her hair and bit inti her head, ripping off some of her scalp, and slinging blood everywhere.

The screaming started, and several students pushed past him, while some of the smarter ones tried to get out throuh the window.

Polly tried to get past him, and he bit her arm.

She ripped her arm out of his mouth, and immediately fell to the groud in a convulsing heap.

I was one of the smart ones trying to escape from the monster through the window, but when I saw Polly on the ground, I rushed over to her side.

Now, I know the number one rule in the zombie apocalypse is to stay away from those who have been bitten, but I couldn't help myself, and frankly,  all those movies and stories of zombie survival just flew out of my head once I saw someone I cared about in pain.

She stopped convulsing, but that just made me more worried because she was so still.

Deathly still.

"Polly, can you hear me?! I'm gonna call an ambulance!", I screamed to her.

Meanwhile, Mr. Trent was distracted by another student trying to pass us, and he immediately leaped on said student, ripping his arm off.
