"Shift"

The voice was strong and hard.
I shrink back into myself, conflicted. I argue with my wolf; she senses no danger coming from this mysterious man.

That was just it, he was a mysterious man we knew nothing about, demanding me to shift. Despite all that we have been through in last week or so, my wolf chooses to trust so easily. I couldn't even muster up the courage to look at the man.

"Shift now and explain why you're trespassing or else I'm forced to take you down." Take me down?! I'm not even threatening! At least now I know why he's hostile, I'm trespassing. To a wolf, that is a dangerous move. I need to shift before he tries to kill me. He growls, growing impatient. I slowly nod, indicating that I understood and I Shift. I'm crouched down, the breeze hitting my bare skin causes me to shiver though I'm not cold.

"Stand." He demands and so I do. His empowered voice tells me he's an higher up. A warrior, perhaps; maybe a Beta. I can see him out of my peripherals. He's sun kissed and well toned. "Why do you trespass?"

"I-" I stumble over my words. As I try again I hear a twig snap, I begin to tremble. I needed to run, but I did that I would have yet another wolf on my tail. He seemed to take notice because his voice softens. "Why do you trespass?" He repeats. I begin to panic, I could feel them getting closer.

"I-I was unaware of the territory. I am—" what do I say?! What am I? "I'm rogue!" I blurt out.

"Rogue?" He questions.

"I seek asylum," I say quickly. "Anywhere I can get it. I'm on the run!" I hear their foot steps like I hear my own heart beat. He narrows his eyes at me. He doesn't believe me. I groaned in frustration.

"I know you can tell I'm pregnant! I have two men that are trying to capture me. I can't just stand here while rack thoughts around in that empty brain of yours!" I snapped at him. "Either let me go or protect me!"

He considered my words, carefully, and rather slowly. As my panic grew so did the sounds of them getting closer. "You need to figure this out now. I will not let you kill my child." My Wolf was getting angry. It seemed like he could tell and he sighed. "I don't know who you are or why you're actually here. You could be lying about a lot of things you say but I do smell a child within you. I will trust you-for now. Do not make me regret it. This way." He shifts back into his wolf and beacons me to follow him. Without hesitation I Shift back and let my wolf take over. I could still feel the tears of joy as my wolf carries us, hurriedly, behind the other wolf.

The farther we raced for the men the calmer I had become. But will they follow? Do they know they're on another pack's territory? The Alpha wouldn't start a war over me, would he? Fear crept into my soul. Would he start a war? Have I just made things worse? What of this pack I'm heading to, I need to warn them. My pack is small and meek perhaps he wouldn't do that to his pack. Most can't fight anymore. He's ruthless nonetheless and if he doesn't get what he wants he'll do everything in his power.

My wolf quickly picks up the scent of more wolves and she becomes anxious; everyone is considered a threat, no one can truly be trusted, yet we're letting another lead us blinding into the unknown. I could a panic attack arising. I needed to get somewhere I could breath, rest, for that matter. I could see an opening, like the beginning of an entrance, where I believe he was taking me but he steers into another direction almost completely opposite of the entrance  I'm confused, but I follow without falter. I knew nothing of this place, I'm completely vulnerable here and he was my only hope. As I'm whispering a pray to the Moon Goddess, he stops at a building camouflaged to the naked untrained eye. He shifts into a man and beckons me to do the same, this time I do without argument.

"Where am I?" I dare ask. He doesn't glance back at me but speaks.
"You're at our packs holding cell."
"You've taken me to a holding cell?!" I asked bewildered. I begin to panic, he was trapping me in. I was basically food for the sharks and he was the server. I take a coupe of steps back and this gets his attention, he takes in my panic, he turns slowly as if to calm a wild animal.
"You'll be safe here." He holds out his hands but doesn't try to come closer. Good move, I would have bolted.
"I'll be a sitting duck, putting me in a cell messed up my ability to run. I'm a dead wolf in there!" I shake my head fiercely. I take another step back. This time he does take a step to me.
"Listen to me, you're not going to be trapped here. I'm not locking you into a cell. It's somewhere you can sleep until I can deem the pack safe in your presence."
Of course, his pack comes first. I understand that, in my panicked state I could only think was my safety, of my unborn child's life. He was thinking about his pack just the same.
"I will not let anything get even close to the cells to catch your scent much less into the building unless I say so. You're safest here."
I considered his words, but could I believe him; trust him, even?
"How can I trust you?" My voice barely a whisper.
"I'm taking you in, a rogue, against my better judgement."
I sunk into myself to consult with my wolf, she still sensed no danger, but the other half of me was still scared. I needed a safe haven and this was my only choice.

Taking a huge risk, I nod sharply. He smiled softly and for some reason I found comfort his genuine nature. I finally take a step back and get a good look at him. He was, at least, 5'8, with dirty blond hair, that looked like it was normally well kept. He had a lean face structure with hazel eyes. He was quite beautiful, to be honest. He was well built, but being a werewolf, we were all naturally fit, as to always being active.

His clothes where also well kept. He had a dark short sleeve V-Neck T-shirt and dark blue jeans with no holes at all. He looked trustworthy, now we're going to see if he honestly was. I swallowed hard, with a sharp nod and let him lead me through the iron door to the cells.
