I took another hit, and another one, and another. It hurt so much. I wanted this to stop. I wanted the pain to stop. But there was nothing I could do, I was helpless.

"Okay, I think she's had enough" The dark skinned girl said when Alycia was about to kick me once again on the stomach.

"I say when she's had enough, Christine." Alycia responded but hesitated for a second. "But maybe you're right, let's go." And they were gone.

My head was throbbing in pain and everything else felt sore. I opened the door to one of the stalls and once I was inside I sat on the floor.

I had to get out of there. I couldn't breathe in that place. Not anymore.

Before I knew it I started to sob quietly...

Corridors were now empty since everyone was in class. Soon enough I was able to locate the restroom door. I pushed it opened and slowly walked in.

I was curiously looking around in search of anything suspicious. It seemed as though no one was there and nothing but silence could be heard.

Maybe I simply misunderstood the meaning of the note, I thought.

Having established that there was nothing wrong going on here I decided to leave. I walked up to one of the sinks to wash my hands since I haven't done that since morning and as I was reaching for the tap I noticed something on the floor.

I took a closer look and immediately knew what I was looking at.

Blood. Blood on the floor between the sinks.

At that point my eyes were wide open in disbelief. I turned around and quickly checked the stalls while simultaneously I was scolding myself for not thinking about it earlier.

Having checked all of them I finally got to the last one. I opened the door and saw the thing I dreaded to see. More blood.

Not much for a serious wound but I was no expert. I was horrified. I wondered, was it a result of student violence or was it self-inflicted?

And most importantly... How did it correlate to the note that I found?

There was only one way to find out, I had to find Alycia.

I left the school as quickly as I could. That place was a nightmare, a nightmare that seemed endless.

As soon as I was able to get up from that cold, filthy floor, I did. And then I walked, I walked for as long as I could. And when I couldn't walk anymore I ran. I wanted to run as far away from that place, from those people as possible...

I didn't know what to do, going home was not an option. I wouldn't even call that place a home. Home is a place where you are loved, isn't it?

Being all beat up and hurt I did the only thing that seemed right at the moment.

I went to the liquor store. The only place where I could find happiness nowadays. Not even fake I.D required, they already know me. I guess it's also that kinda spot where a ten year old could buy alcohol. A little shady to say the least.

Alcohol was good. It was the only thing I could rely on. It never failed to make me forget. It helped me cope with reality.

I hid in a nearby park, one that had lots of trees. I sat on a dry branch laying on the ground and took a sip. Then a gulp, and another one. Soon enough I started to feel the blissful void I craved so much.

But then a single image popped up in my head. An image of the beautiful English teacher...
