The First Pyramid

My name is Alyssa, and today is the day that I will start a new chapter. I'm finally starting to dance with the elite team at the ALDC! After dancing there for several years, I got an opportunity to audition for the elite team. I was selected to be a team member, replacing Paige. I walked into the den and peeled off my coat. Underneath I had a blue Leo and black booty shorts. As I secured my hair in two dutch braids, Maddie, Kenzie, Nia, Chloe, and Kendall walked in.

"Hey, guys!" I said

"Hi, Alyssa!" Maddie and Kendall said

I had had classes with the elite girls in ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical for a while, so I already knew the girls a little.

"Girls! Time for pyramid!" yelled Abby

We all scrambled in and stood in a line. There were 6 headshots, one off to the side

"Last week, as you know, we had an audition to find girls to replace Brooke and Paige. While I do not have a replacement for Brooke yet, Alyssa, who I think you already know, will replace Paige."

Abby reached for the bottom picture. "Nia. you were off in the group. Next is Kendall," she said, revealing the picture "you have to learn to apply corrections. Then we have Kenzie. Your solo was second. Unacceptable. Chloe, your solo was second, but only to Maddie, so you are second on the pyramid, and that leaves Maddie on the top" Abby reached for the headshot off to the side. "As you all know, Alyssa has been selected to join the elite team. Alyssa, you have yet to prove yourself, so this week you, Kendall, and Maddie will do solos. Alyssa, your solo is a contemporary number called Is It Me. That is what we are asking, Is it you that will represent the ALDC? Or someone else. Kendall, your solo is a sassy jazz routine called Shout It Out, and Maddie has a lyrical number called Classic. The group dance is called Break Me, and Maddie and Chloe will be featured," said Abby.
