Chapter 9

Hayes POV
I clean Jack up and I hear someone walk upstairs. God I hope it's not Grayson. I don't need another fight to happen. I open the door and see Amber on the bed. Thank god.
"Hey how are you feeling?" I ask rubbing her leg a little.
"I'm okay I guess." She says
"How's Grayson doing" I ask with little interest
"He's okay. I cleaned him up but his hand is pretty banged up." She said shrugging her shoulders.
"That's good. Do you want to talk about it?" I ask referring to her break down
"Well basically it brought back a memory of a time when John was beating me really bad. He was kicking me really hard and hitting me with a belt. It felt like I was there with John. Like he was hitting me all over again. I could feel the pain of it all over again. I puked up blood and was just laying in it wishing he would just stop already but he never did. And I guess seeing the blood downstairs is what made me remember it again..." She says looking down. I tilt her head up and look into her eyes
"No one is ever going to hurt you again Amber you are safe here I promise. And what John and the twins did to you was really fucked up but it won't happen again." I say trying to comfort her the best I could
"Hayes?"
"Yes beautiful?" I say winking at her and she blushed. Holy shit I made her blush.
"Can we lay down for a bit?" She asked
"Yea of course. Are you tired?" I ask
"Yea a little but not enough to sleep."
"Okay lets lay down" I say. After we lay down I move closer to her and she does the same. I wrap my arms around her and she snuggles into me. God she is amazing. I get all tingly when I'm with her.

Ambers POV
Once Hayes wrapped his arms around me I felt butterflies. He makes me feel good. I cuddle
into his chest and start playing with his shirt a little and I hear him laugh a little.
"Your adorable." He says still laughing
"Why are you laughing?" I asked
"Because you're adorable" he says and I roll my eyes and look away. He gasped
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" He playfully said
"Yes what do think I did." I sassed back
"Are you sassing me now? That's it!" He says pushing himself on top of me tickling me causing me to laugh. I never really laugh but it feels good to.
"H-Hayes s-stop!" I say laughing
"No this is what you get!" He says tickling me more. He then stops and looks at me and we just lock eye contact for a while
"You have a beautiful laugh. It's nice hearing you laughing and have fun." He says
"Thanks it was nice having fun." I say laughing a little still. We stare into each others eyes. I see him lean in and I felt his lips on mine. I kissed back and our lips were moving against each other. His lips were so soft and plump. I couldn't have imagined a better first kiss than this. He slowly pulls away smiling big. I could feel that I was blushing and a big smile appeared onto my face.

Hayes POV
I couldn't help but lean in and kiss her. Her lips are so perfect. They fit perfectly with mine, it's like they were made for me. God she is perfect.
"You're a good kisser." I say to her
"Thanks. That was my first kiss..." she trails off
"Really?" I asked shocked
"Yea I have never kissed anyone until now."
"Well you're pretty damn good. Almost like a pro." I say causing her to giggle. I lean in and kiss her once more but this one being shorter.
"I wish I could do that all the time" I say pulling away. I have to take things slow with her. I don't want to force her into anything or do something that will bring back memories. I want to treat her right.
"Hayes... I like you and I do want to date you but, I just don't want you to date me for the wrong reasons."
"Amber I like you to and I want to be with you for you not out of pitty. I think you are a really cool girl and your pretty too. And I think it's time that you have someone treat you right so why not let it be me. You would kill 2 birds with one stone." I say looking into her eyes
"What now?" She asks
"Well if you like me and I like you then there's something I want to ask you. Will you be my girlfriend?" I ask nervously
"Y-Yes" She says looking down smiling big.
"Really?" I ask doubtful of her answer
"Yes Hayes I trust you and I think you won't treat me how all the other guys in my life did."
"Amber I will never treat you like that. I promise you. And I know this is new for you so we will go at your pace. Don't feel rushed into anything" I say grabbing her hand
"Okay Hayes. Can we lay down again? I just want to cuddle with you." She says
"Of course." I say pulling her into my chest and intertwining our fingers. This is the best day of my life. It's the perfect moment with the perfect girl.
