Ashley's POV
My story all started at a typical day at school...
" Ashley what on Earth are you doing reading a book on the day of homecoming?"
" Kate just please leave me be I'm almost done with it I swear and then I will help you get ready alright."
" What do you mean that you will help me get ready you are going to go too!"
"I don't know Kate, I don't even have a freakin dress to wear!"
"I got you covered."
Kate held up this gorgeous short red dress with lots of sparkle and with a halter top.
"Eh, I guess I have no other plans." I shrugged. Kate helped me into my dress because I have no experience with looking beautiful or having a dress on.
Kate and I finally finished getting ready. She drove us there in her new gray Jeep that she got for her birthday. While in the car I slipped my headphones into my ear and started listening to my favorite band Why Don't We.Daniel is like my all time favorite one. I was listening to These Girls and jamming out like a total nerd.
"Please don't tell me that you are going to be like that at the dance Ashley." Kate laughed.
"Haha nope you will be glad if you even have fun at the dance!" I laughed
"Shut up, I will make sure that you have the best time ok?" She assured
I just kind of payed no attention to what she just said and focused on my music.
We arrived at the homecoming dance and already walking in I see two people making out on the steps which is just gross. Kate and I step inside the gym and we see a whole lot of high schoolers having fun and dancing.
Kate met up with her boyfriend, Ryan. It was kind of awkward because I kind of third wheeled with them most of the night.
"Go get out there and meet some new guys Ashley!" Ryan yelled over the loud music.
I don't typically go and flirt with guys like I used to. I stopped after a guy that I thought lived me ditched me for someone else. The whole school knows about it now so that's why I kinda like to stay hidden.
The dance started to get a little boring so I called an Uber to come pick me up and drive me to my favorite diner in town called Joan's Diner.
