‘A Wish For You.’

★---------------------------------★

Tenn looked at a piece of paper in the hold of both of his hands, staring at it for who-knows-how long. Right now, he and his brother, Riku, were standing in front of a small wishing tree at the hospital’s lounge. Some people in the hospital filled the tree with other wishing papers as it dangling on the branches. Most of them were saying their wish for the sick patient in the hospital to become healthy. The IV holder stood beside the redhead is taller than the twins’ height. The paper in Tenn’s hold said, ‘May Riku’s sickness is gone.’

Tenn finally averted his gazes from the paper towards Riku. “What do you have, Riku?” He asked as Riku looked at Tenn and smiled.

“Riku have…~”

Riku extended the paper in his hand towards Tenn to let him see what have he written on it. Riku’s handwriting is a bit different from Tenn. While Tenn have could start using more kanji words, Riku is still not and his handwriting is a bit sloppy than him. Maybe it was because of the redhead was not often present at the school. Upon seeing the wish Riku has written in it, Tenn widened his eyes as the paper said, ‘I hope that there will be no one who suffers from illness.’

“The truth is ‘May the world disappears from the disease’. I was thinking like that but… That will be no work for the doctor.” He added.

“Riku… Is it okay for you to wish for that instead?”

“It’s alright! This is how things going on. What about you, Tenn-nii?” Now, it is Riku’s turn to ask at Tenn as the redhead drew closer to him to see the content of the wishing paper. “Ah! It’s about me! Tenn-nii doesn’t have to do that. Is it okay?”

“It’s Alright.” He smiled warmly. “This is my best thing to ask for.”

“I’m so happy~” Riku cheered happily.

Seeing Riku smiled innocently like that, Tenn subconsciously smiling too. How he wish for Riku to be healthy. ‘For him, anything is fine.’ He has sacrificed his own desire to make Riku happy. He has trade his wish for Riku instead. Anything to protect him, protect the smile blooming his every day. As Riku asked for his wishing paper to tied it on the tree, he prayed.

‘Anything is fine.’

Day One…

Walking home from school alone as usual, he should be getting friend to fill his loneliness at school whenever Riku was unable to be present. Looking forward on the road, watching as the pre-winter season gloomy sky, perfect for the tall skyscraper building background, Tenn frowned. Winter is the least season he likes. Winter making Riku stuck in the hospital. But who is he to choose? He’s not the one who creates this kind of season anyway.

Greeted by the nurses passing by, as fast as lightning, his frown turned into a smile while making his way to the familiar room.

“Riku, I’ve arrived!”

“Tenn-nii!” Good. He’s still sitting on the bed, patiently waiting for his arrival, maybe. There’s one time, Riku have snuck himself out of the bed searching for him. Being an impatient child he is, sitting on the bed all morning must be boring. It’s just… he looks a bit happier than any previous days.

“Tenn-nii, Riku wanted to tell you something!” He excitedly said. Tenn tilted his head as he took his seat beside the bed. “I made a friend!”

Tenn frowned. It’s so unusual for someone to be here. Honestly, Tenn doesn’t like the thought Riku make a friend. He’ll hold them dearly and when they have enough of him, they’ll leave him on his own despair. Tenn perfectly knows how Riku really treasure people especially when it comes to a word called, ‘friend’. He never get one… until just now.
