I've always hated my brown hair,
I mean it wasn't long,
But it wasn't short.
Some people say it's the, "perfect length".
I hate it.
My dumb brown hair is just so "normal" and ordinary,
I absolutely hate it.

I've always hated my eyes too,
They weren't hazel
Just a normal old brown, nothing nice about them.
They don't even glow in the sunlight..

"Cora? Are you okay?" My friend, Lex asks..
Lex was short for Lexington, we've been the best of friends since I can remember, I knew her better than she knew herself, we were inseparable.
"Yeah I'm fine, just got lost in my thoughts is all." I Iet out a breathy laugh.

"What were you thinking about?" Gigi asks, I've only met Gigi last year but when we're together it feels like we've known eachother forever.
"Just thinking about how much of a mess you look right now" I giggle changing the subject.

"Hey!" Gigi laughs as she shoves my shoulder, causing me and Lex to snicker, "I came from my boyfriend's house to be here, you guys are lucky I decided to come here" She laughs and Lex rolls her eyes, laughing along with her...

After a while the two look at me, I clear my throat, "So who's paying" I speak up, I've been quite for too long.
We were at a diner early in the morning, Lex had planned it so we could go before school, dont ask me how I got up before 5 to go eat breakfast at a 24 hour diner. I honestly do not know.
"Not me" Lex says, resulting in me rolling my eyes, she's a rich cheapskate, but I love her.
"I mean..you planned it," Gigi says shrugging her shoulders and taking another bite of her food.

Lex looks to me to defend her but I just agree with Gigi with a nod and shrug.
Lex huffs and crosses her arms "Fine."
Gigi chuckles and holds up her hand for a high five, I gladly accept. Lex tosses the money on the table, "Let's go" she gets up to get to her car, leaving us looking at each other.

Gigi makes a face of amusement, "Someone's grumpy" we laugh and get up to leave. I stop in my tracks and back track to the table, I leave a tip and catch up with the girls.

Once we arrive at school we're greeted by Mia. I also met Mia last year, Mia and Gigi already knew one another, just bringing the group even closer to one another.
"Sorry I couldn't come to the diner" Shes says after we all say our hellos and good mornings. She continues, "My mom weirdly doesn't trust me not to skip school" She laughs and shakes her head.

"Aww sweets, your too much of a goody two-shoes to skip school" Gigi chuckles, patting Mia's face a few times before she playfully glares and smakes her hand away, earning a chuckle from the rest of us.

"Guys guess what I just firgured out" Lex eyes wide with excitment and waves her hands in our faces, most of us roll our eyes but we all ask what her she's talking about.
"Our group has like, labels..." She says waiting for someone to saying something
"Care to elaborate mate?" Mia rolls her eyes gesturing her hand to continue.

Note, Mia, isn't english, we live in Arizona, Mia's the only one who was born here. Though, none of us plan on staying here. Us all probably moving away for college. Whether different states or not. None of us liked it here.

To go more into depth, Lex probably hated it here the most. I mean, if she hated it more than me. I don't know if it's because of where we're located or it's this whole damn state but everyone was either, homophobic, racist, sexist, or just plain damn creepy. Given, we're females, most of us weren't caucasian, and some not heterosexual, I can confidently say we all despise it here.

"Mia's like the smart one..." Lex waits for us to catch on, but obviously we are still confused on what Lex's getting at.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Gigi asks, clearly irritated.
"Mia's like the smart one, I'm like the sexy/pretty one," Lex smiles and runs her fingers through her hair, "Gigi's like the bad girl who doesn't give a fuck about anyone-" Gigi huffs in artificial annoyance but the glint in her eyes tells us she knows its true and she's amused.

"-and Cora is like the rebel, who breaks all the rules" I make a face. Along with everyone else
"I don't think you've got that one right Lex" I force a laugh, I don't want to show it but for some reason I don't find that funny..at all.
"Umm, yes I did, nobody realizes but me that you don't listen to anyone, you're wild, and you've got that vibe to you" She lets out an exasperated sigh when we don't respond.

"Anyways," Mia says, "I'm gonna get to class before the second bells rings" Gigi's face brightens, "What did I say? Goody two-shoes" Gigi mocks. "Shut up" Mia glares, "I'm leaving, bye" She waves us bye, and she walks away.

"Who's the hottie at 5 o'clock?" Lex says, popping bubble gum into her mouth. We look over, "Lex, that's a grown man," Gigi scolds,
"and you have a girlfriend" I add.
"I'm saying that for you guys," Lex defends herself laughing. "I have a boyfriend!" Gigi protests. "Then Cora can have him, she seems like she needs some dick" She whispers, or tries to.

"I'm right here, asshole" I scowl, rolling my eyes. Suddenly I'm over this conversation.
"Hey, come on I'm joking Coco, calm down." Lex mocks, exaggerating the "Y" in "Hey". She only calls me Coco when she wants to annoy me. I've always hated it because it had nothing to do with my name, it was already short enough.

"Yeah alright can we get to class?" I ask a little annoyed. I'm not going to lie, the guy was cute, but Lex didn't need to know I thought that so I needed to stop looking at him. "Let's get to Literature!" She fakes excitement. I raise an eyebrow at her for her to come along and she follows behind shortly with a huff. "Huff and puff all you want but if we want to get out of this shitty town we need good grades. Let's go" I laugh

Was this bad? I have no idea. I'm kinda having fun tho. I have a lot of different way this booo could go but I always have trouble going into the drama or starting the booo so this might take me a while. Give me some time tho. Read my other book! -🍒
