except this time, she accidentally said her thought out loud.

"because," jeongguk responded, looking at anna. "you being you should be enough.

"i want you to eat more, i want you to be able to look in the mirror and think, 'i'm pretty'. i want you to be able to go out in public without covering your face," jeongguk said, removing anna's bangs from her face.

"ew, that was cheesy," jeongguk scrunched his nose up and showed his bunny smile. "oh, please eat the tteokbokki i gave you!" 

"oh, yeah. thank you for the tteokbokki you've given me everyday.. uhh," anna started to say. "wanna eat with me?"

"oh, yeah sure!! i haven't eaten lunch yet. oh yeah, uhm, i don't mean to be awkward but your name is anna, right?"

and then they conversed while eating tteokbokki. they talked about themselves, their friends, and more. they wanted to know each other more, and they did.

but all things have to come to an end. "oh, i have to go now," jeongguk said, looking at his phone.

"ah, okay. goodbye," anna responded with a frown.

"aw, smile!! i'll be back, i promise!" jeongguk said, holding his pinkie out. anna and jeongguk intertwined their pinkies. then, the front door opened. someone walked in.

"oh, anna! you didn't tell me you would have a boy over! you should've, i would've made you look... prettier!" the lady at the front door said. 

"it's okay, mrs. nguyen, she's pretty already," jeongguk said, playfully winking at anna. anna died inside. "anyways, i have to go now. oh! and anna and i ate tteokbokki already, so you don't have to cook anything. thank you for letting me stay in your house a while!" 

then, jeongguk walked out the door.

but the next morning, she got something unexpected.

her last tteokbokki from him.
